6 Powerful Bible verses about victory over enemies and war

Spread the love

The Bible verses about victory over enemies that we find in the Holy Scriptures give us the tools to be able to fight against the enemy and obtain victory since this is one of the promises of our Heavenly Father. Therefore we must have the confidence that he will work in every aspect of our life and that trials are only temporary and serve to carry out God’s purpose.

In this sense, when we obtain victory over sin, it shows us the result of a personal fight against our personal sin, the one that is reflected in our daily lives and that puts our salvation at risk. In this way, it is important to put on the armor of Christ to defeat the enemy and proclaim the Victory of our King, because that victory only belongs to God and not to man.

6 Bible verses about victory over enemies

Each battle constitutes a personal and individual struggle where we are daily tempted to sin and break our Father’s commandments. But when we overcome the temptation to sin, you have won a battle and it is very likely that you will win the war. But this is spiritual and not carnal, and you can carry it out by considering the following verses:

God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers

1.- Matthew 4:1-11

“Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. And after having fasted forty days and forty nights, he then was hungry. And the tempter approaching, he said to him: If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread ”

This verse shows us that Jesus Christ, being the Son of God, was also tempted by the devil when he began to hunger in the desert. But he fully trusted his Father and that is why he defeated the enemy and was able to do it through words full of wisdom.

In this way, to defeat the enemy we have to be prepared and know the word of God in depth since this is a powerful weapon that we can use to defend ourselves from the spiritual hosts that constantly attack us.

Prayer is also fundamental, and just as Jesus Christ often prayed in solitude, in this way we must pray in private, exposing our feelings to the Lord so that he gives us strength like those of the buffalo, and thus be able to overcome as Christ did.

2.- Romans 6:11-14

In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.  Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.
Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.  For sin shall no longer be your master because you are not under the law but under grace..”

This passage exhorts us not to let ourselves be led by sin, to leave behind the carnal side and give way to the spiritual side, so that in this way the admirable light of Christ may reign in us. We must remember that we are the temple and dwelling place of the Holy Spirit, who gives us the tools to defeat the evil one and provides us with special and supernatural coverage against all principalities and hosts of evil.

3.- Titus 2:11-13

“For the grace of God has manifested itself, bringing salvation to all men, teaching us that, denying impiety and worldly desires, we should live soberly, justly, and piously in this world, awaiting the blessed hope and the manifestation of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ”

In order to win against our strongest adversary, Satan, we must leave the desires of the flesh and set our sights on Christ Jesus, who represents the admirable light that guides our paths of justice. Therefore we must have hope at all times that God will work in his time and give us victory.

4.- Revelation 21:1-3

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, because the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and the sea no longer exists. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Then I heard a loud voice say from the throne: Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them and they will be his people, and God himself will be among them.”

The greatest victory that a believer can have is to enter the presence of our Almighty God, who has prepared a beautiful place for us where there will be no sadness or crying and where God will always be glorified.

Being in the new Jerusalem is victory over the enemy because there we will be transformed into spiritual bodies and we will offer praise and Glory to the creator of Heaven and Earth, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

But in order to be in that shining place we have to go through many trials, win many battles, and let our flesh die. Dress ourselves in the armor of Christ to present our bodies with clean and white garments before the presence of our God. This is not easy because we are weak, but God glorifies himself in our weaknesses and gives us the strength to push ourselves and overcome.

5.- Ephesians 6:10-12

“For the rest, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can stand firm against the wiles of the devil. For we do not fight against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this century, against spiritual wickedness in the heavenly realms.”

We believers must keep in mind that when we talk about spiritual fights and battles, we are not talking about fights or contests with man, but rather we are battling against the world of darkness where powerful entities want to undo God’s work here on earth.

Therefore, not all believers are chosen for the mission of spiritual warriors because they must be very prepared and have the special anointing of our Lord, just as the different biblical characters had it, such as David, and Daniel, among others.

6.- Colossians 1:16

“For in him all things were created, things that are in heaven and things on earth, visible and invisible; be thrones, be dominions, be principalities, be powers; Everything was created through him and for him.”

This passage reveals to us that God is the creator par excellence of all things, both good things and hosts and principalities of evil.

Therefore, he exercises authority over them and allows them to intimidate us in some cases, as happened to Job, who was exposed to many calamities, but in the end, he was victorious because he always remained firm and loyal to God.

However, we must always ask the Lord to protect us and to keep us from everything bad so that we do not have to go through such painful calamities because everything that is asked for with faith and with a willing heart will be given according to the will of God. God, since God’s mercy, is forever, and he does not give us tests that we cannot bear.

In this way, through these verses of war and victory, we can attest to the power that God has to defeat the enemy in each of the battles that are present in our lives.

But we must be clear that this fight is not against our brothers, but against the enemy and the spiritual forces that will do everything possible to steal your peace, that peace that only Christ can give you.

So through these verses, we find a refuge from the adversities that we have to experience daily since this world belongs to Satan. But we must inhabit it until Christ comes the second time and takes away his children.

As believers, we must be clear that salvation is not a game and that we must be alert because the enemy does not rest, and if we deviate from the right path, we can stumble and lose the wonderful gift that God has given us.

At present, the churches have as their main theme prosperity, the riches that God can give us, and the good life of the Christian. But we must have our feet on the ground and know that as Christians we will suffer calamities in this world, we will go through very difficult tests in order to be molded by Christ and be prepared for the final battle, where we will be taken away by the Lord and taken to his admirable light. . As we can see in this beautiful passage:

“And then that wicked one will be revealed, whom the Lord will kill with the spirit of his mouth, and destroy with the brightness of his coming” (2 Thessalonians 2:8).
