The Power of Christ on earth according to the bible

Spread the love

The Power of Christ is given to every faithful believer to defeat Satan and all evil spirits that haunt the earth. He has given us all the tools to overcome. So this power that Christ has given us is so that together with his presence we rule over the earth and have the authority to exalt the Name of the Lord.

Jesus Christ gave us the promise of granting us his power so that we advance and proclaim the message of salvation to all nations and to every creature, as revealed by his word: “The gates of Hades will not be able to resist or hold back the church that advances” ( Matthew 16:18)

In this sense, in this passage, we can appreciate that Jesus Christ makes it clear to us that he who is in us is stronger and more powerful than he who is in the world. That the power of God is greater than that of the enemy. When there is a conflict between the power of the enemy and the power of God, the power of the enemy will surely lose to the greatness of the Lord, because the Lord surpasses him in every way.

The power of Christ on earth according to the bible

Last words of JesusToday we must be clear that the world in which we live has two kingdoms: The natural and the spiritual. For this reason, as Christians, we must have the ability to know how to live in this spiritual realm in a way that impacts the natural realm.

Instead of the spiritual realm only impacting me, I need to be living in a way that can impact the spiritual realm, which in turn affects the natural realm.

This may seem somewhat confusing, but when a believer scrutinizes the Holy Scriptures, he can understand this type of spiritual message that goes beyond logical reason, since the Holy Spirit is the one who gives you the discernment to understand the message of Christ. to humanity.

In this regard, in Paul’s statement in 1 Corinthians 4:19-20, we can understand the power we have as Christians. Paul points out in these verses that he comes to Corinth to see the teachers who are there, but he does not come to listen to their words, but rather he comes to see the power in their lives:

“But I will come to you quickly, the Lord willing, and I will know, not the words, but the power of those who walk with pride. For the kingdom of God does not consist in words, but in power” (1 Corinthians 4:19-20).

These passages reveal the commitment we have with what the word of God and its power mean since we must understand the truth of the power of Christ in us here on earth, the purpose of the authority that has been granted to us here on earth.

In such a way in this verse, different questions arise that the Lord asks each one of his children: Have you given yourself to me through my Word?; Will you give yourself to me through my power? These questions we may not be able to answer immediately, as they require spiritual understanding.

However, as we go on this journey with Christ, we begin to understand the power of the Lord, how he wants us to appropriate that power, and how we can accomplish his work through him. In this way, our lives must be characterized by the power of God, so that the power of the Christian is as clear and understandable as a reflection of his word.

What is the authority of Christ in us?

Jesus Christ when he came to this earth gave us power and authority to cast out demons and heal the sick in his name. That authority is granted by the fact of being Children of God and for having accepted him as our only and true savior. The scriptures say the following:

“And what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the operation of the power of his might, which he worked in Christ, raising him from the dead and seating him at his right hand in heavenly places. ” (Ephesians 1:19)

In this sense, just as God revealed his power and authority when he raised Jesus Christ from the dead, to later seat him at the right hand in heavenly places, so his power continues to be in each of his faithful Sons. But we must believe in this and seize the word to do the wonders and wonders that he entrusted to us.

In this way, the authority of Christ is above all dominion and power not only in this age but also in the one to come. In addition, God put all things in subjection under the feet of Jesus Christ and gave him as head over all things the church, the people of God on earth.

Regarding the resurrection and ascension of Christ, he exhorted his disciples on many occasions about his commission to pass through Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and all the ends of the earth.

He also told them that to carry out this mission they should first clothe themselves with power from on high, from the Lord. For this reason, the disciples had to wait in the upper room, in which the Holy Spirit was released upon them.

In this sense, in the Gospels, Jesus Christ shows us the way in which we should do things. He teaches us to live in the power of God and to do his will.

Therefore, it is a challenge for us as faithful believers to put the teachings of Jesus Christ into practice and make the churches places where the power and authority of Christ are manifested, where the presence of the Holy Spirit is felt.

Because certainly, the church of Jesus Christ must continue because it is a mandate to gather together. But not only occupying a bench but carrying out the ministry that Jesus began in the Gospels, as expressed in his word by saying that just as the Father sent him, in the same way, he sends us.

This refers to the last night of Jesus Christ here on earth, and that is why it says that I now send you in the same way that the Father sent him.

So we must fully appropriate what Jesus Christ did so that this power and authority greatly glorify Jesus Christ, who glorified the Father, who sends us to manifest that same power here on earth, in the churches, in the entire nations. , carrying the message of salvation to every creature.

In the book of Acts of the bible, we can see that the early church was living the life of the ministry of Jesus Christ without having the incarnate Jesus. From the book of Romans to the end of the New Testament in the book of Revelation, there are truths that reveal why and how we can live like Jesus Christ and like the early church presented in the book of Acts.

When Jesus Christ came to this earth he ministered as a true man, because he, as God, had to be a man and experience himself as such. In this way, he is showing us the way in which we can live like him, with his authority and power on earth.

This is revealed in his word: “I pray that you will gain insight and understanding. I pray that you get the revelation of the immense greatness of the power of God that works in you” (Ephesians 1)

In this quote, God demands that we seek the power of God so that it can be activated in each one of us. That power is the same one that raised Christ from the dead and seated him at the right hand of God in heavenly places. That power and authority are what we must manifest everywhere, in every nation, and in our lives.

The power of Jesus Christ over sin and principalities

The power of Christ over every host of wickedness, every sin, every principality, can be seen in the book of Colossians 2:13-15, where he expresses the following:

“And you, being dead in sins and in the incursion of your flesh, he made alive together with him, forgiving you all your sins, annulling the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, taking it out of the way and nailing it to the cross, and spoiling the principalities and powers, he made a public display of them, triumphing over them on the cross”

In this sense, the perfect sacrifice of Christ represents our total liberation from all sin that falls against us, since through the blood of Jesus we have been justified, cleansed, and renewed. Now we are new creatures through the one who gave his life for us, the one who put sin to death with his own death.

Parable of the rich fool

We receive the power of the Christian through salvation

Every believer must reveal that we acquire the power and authority of Christ through salvation. It is not something we have earned, it is an undeserved gift that is bestowed by God’s mercy.

So all who earnestly seek the Lord receive the authority and have the power to manifest the wonders of our Heavenly Father here on earth. We are all given the same authority and power.

But there are different gifts that each Christian has. This will depend on the communion with God and each of these gifts is not for the pride of people, but to glorify God. As the word puts it:

“For in him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and you are complete in him, who is the head of all principality and power” (Colossians 2:9-10).

In this way, the entirety of the deity is in Jesus Christ in bodily form, and when we have true fellowship with Christ we are given the fullness of the Lord, which represents the head over all authority and power. However, this power and authority are granted for the purpose and vision of the kingdom, of our path to eternal light and sweet abode in heavenly places.

In this way, when we are free, we want God to use us to help others to be freed so that they can access the kingdom and experience the power of the Lord through the power of believers. For this reason, our mission is to be able to liberate the oppressed, the neighbor, and not only focus on ourselves and our personal salvation.

Real Christianity is based on preparing for the spiritual battle, educating oneself in the word to proclaim the message of salvation to every creature, just as the Lord demands it in his word. It is not about being Christians to obtain merits, fame, money, among other things of the world, it is about glorifying the Lord in all His fullness, so we must dethrone ourselves and give him all the honor he deserves because he is in the U.S. Without him, we are nothing.

How can Jesus Christ benefit me?

When you arrive at the feet of Christ your life begins to change in a surprising way because you see things differently. Spiritual eyes are opened and the Holy Spirit is poured out on us to bless, heal, cast out demons, preach, evangelize, among many wonders that we can do with the power of Christ in us.

However, this path is narrow, and social pressure is felt, typical of the world, where the enemy seeks or tries to divert the Children of God from the correct path to hinder their work on earth.

So when you are a Christian you must be prepared to fight the good fight, to pass the litmus tests that the Lord places on you. But he never leaves you alone, he will remain in you until the last days because he loves you and wants you to be saved, but he also wants you to do his will that is perfect.

In this way, our primary motivation as Christians should be to glorify him, enjoy his presence in our lives, and advance the purpose he has entrusted to us. The greatest benefit we have with Christ is that of salvation since his promise fills us with hope and gives us strength to overcome the adversities of this hostile and cruel world.

With Christ, in the midst of the storm, we find calm and peace that passes all understanding. With him, we know that all things work together for good, that we will obtain the reward of forgiveness, of his infinite mercy. With Christ, I am more than a conqueror and in my weakness I am strong.
