What is new life in Christ according to the bible?
Listening to the Word of God, feeling how it is revealed in our lives, and accepting the sacrifice of Jesus Christ in our hearts, are just the beginning of a New Life.
But, what is the new life in Christ? We invite you to read this article and discover it, so join us and let the Holy Spirit reveal himself to your life in a special way, and in this way, you can begin this wonderful adventure.
Being Born Again.
“I tell you the truth, whoever is not born again
cannot see the kingdom of God,” said Jesus.
I assure you that whoever is not born of water and of the Spirit,
cannot enter the kingdom of God, answered Jesus.
What is born from the body is body;
What is born of the Spirit is spirit”
John 3.3, 5-6 NIV
New Believers are often as shocked at this truth as Nicodemus was the night he groped his way to Jesus, you may also be wondering:
Why would I need to be born again?
Well, as simple as what is born of the spirit is spirit, because neither flesh nor blood will enter the kingdom of God, which is a spiritual kingdom.
Now, we are born again by accepting Jesus Christ as our only personal savior, recognizing that:
- We are sinners and
- That He paid for our life at the price of blood on the cross,
But, this is only the beginning, because as spiritual newborns, we require the proper care of a baby in our New Spiritual Life.
If you ask yourself, what is the new life in Christ? It is the life that we begin after being born again and deciding to live according to the Word of God.
What is the New Life in Christ?
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.
The old has passed away, the new has come.”
2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV
One of the most beautiful verses in the Bible is this, in its rest all the promises of the new covenant of God, because, being sinners and leading a disorderly life, Christ had already thought of us and died for us on the cross of Calvary.
By accepting his sacrifice, the Lord erases all our sins and begins to write a new history, because we have decided to walk hand in hand, so we can affirm as to the Apostle Paul in this Letter to the Corinthians, the old has passed, it has arrived new life in Christ Jesus.
How can we bring new life in Christ?
The only way to lead a new life in Christ in an optimal way is
- Asking the Holy Spirit to seal our lives, and
- Beginning to have a daily and personal relationship with Him
In this way, God will comfort us, instruct us, change us, help us, and strengthen us just as He has promised in the precious Word of God.
“I will give you a new heart, and put a new spirit in you;
I will take away from you that heart of stone that you now have,
and I will give you a heart of flesh.
I will put my Spirit within you, and I will cause you to follow my precepts and obey my laws.”Ezekiel 36. 26-27 NV I
Now, the Holy Spirit will help us change our hearts, this means that we must also do our part:
- We must study the Word of God so that we know the precepts of God,
- and knowing them the Holy Spirit will help us to follow them.
To have a new life in Christ we must yearn for the Word of God.
“Therefore, abandoning all wickedness and all deceit, hypocrisy,
Envy and all slander, long for the pure milk of the word,
Like newborn babes. Thus, through her, you will grow in your salvation “
1 Peter 2.1-2 NIV
The Apostle Peter on this occasion is quite clear that it is a new life in Christ because following the teaching that Jesus gave to Nicodemus, he speaks to new believers as little children, and why? they have just been born spiritually.
This verse from the First Letter of Peter reveals a wonderful rule of thumb for new believers, and that is that they should yearn for the Word of God, saying it here as a command to obey, and beyond it as a voluntary decision.

Bible verses
Now, how many times a day should I do this? Well, as many as you can, look at newborn babies and how much they need to feed so as not to die. So cheer up and don’t let yourself die.

- Pray to God, and
- congregate with people who share your faith.

That is why, on this occasion, we have prepared 12 New life in christ verses and Lessons, so that, if you are a New Believer, the Holy Spirit can reveal Himself in your life and if you have a new believer in your care, you can contribute to their watch out.
New life in christ verse and Lessons
We have prepared these beautiful 12 Lessons for new believers, based on the Word of God, hoping in our Lord Jesus Christ that they serve as a revelation, food, and guide for new believers in their New life in Christ.
That way people who have come closer to the Lord can do studies for new simple believers, but with really powerful truths that will build their lives.
1. God loved us even before we knew him.
The most important thing for a new believer to keep in mind is that God chose him even from his mother’s womb, and even though we didn’t know him, he died for our sins.
“In this is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be offered as a sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins.”
1 John 4.10 NIV
Each of the experiences, good or bad, have been arranged to prepare our hearts to meet him, and it is the desire of God’s heart that we live a full and happy life by his side, from now until the end of time.
2. Sin had separated us from God.
“For the wages of sin is death,
but the gift of God is eternal life
in Christ Jesus our Lord”Romans 6.23
You might ask, why does evil happen in the world if God is good?
Well, when God created the world, he gave man the opportunity to choose his path, and Adam decided to disobey God, so death, evil, and disease entered the world, but God provided the way out through Jesus Christ.
3. Jesus Christ is the only way to God.
The next time you ask yourself, do I need an intermediary to get closer to God? , read the following verse from the Bible. Jesus affirms NO ONE reaches the father if it is not through HIM.
“-I’m the way, the truth and the life Jesus replied .
No one comes to the Father except through me.”
John 14.6 NIV
So, confidently approach our God through the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ and understand that the only chance of salvation for humanity was given through Him.
4. Only in Christ do we have Salvation.
” Indeed, since we were unable to save ourselves, at the appointed time , Christ died for the wicked, but God demonstrates his love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:6, 8
Simply, we were incapable of saving ourselves, Adam sinned and death entered humanity, and not only a physical death that entails the deterioration of the body and death but spiritual death and also eternal death.
Therefore, at the right time, Jesus Christ died for us and in this way, if we accept it, we will have salvation.
5. We must accept Jesus Christ in Our Hearts.
“ But to those who received him, to those who believe in his name,
he gave them the right to be children of God.”John 1:12 NIV
There are people who claim that we are all children of God, and this is false, because, according to the quoted biblical verse, we are creations of God, creatures.
until we receive him and believe in his name, and in the beautiful sacrifice he made on the cross of Calvary paying the price of blood for our lives, only there, by accepting him in the intimacy of our hearts, do we receive the right to be children of God.
6. We must pray to Communicate with God.
“But you, when you begin to pray, go into your room,
close the door and pray to your Father, who is in secret.
Thus your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.And when you pray, do not speak just for the sake of speaking as the Gentiles do, because they imagine that they will be heard for their many words.”
Matthew 6.6 NIV
The most beautiful thing about this new life that is undertaken in God is that God is now not a distant being, but rather a faithful friend to whom we can turn at all times through prayer.
And if you ask yourself, what is prayer? It is nothing more than talking to God honestly and frankly, every day of our lives.
7. We must read the Word of God.
“Indeed, the Word of God is alive and powerful,
And sharper than any two-edged sword.
It penetrates to the depths of the soul and spirit, to the marrow of the bones, and judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart”Hebrews 4:12-13 NIV
When we begin a New Life in Christ we are like newborn babies who require their food so as not to die, and what is this precious food, then the Word of God, which reaches and transforms even the depths of our being.
8. We have a constant Struggle with Our Nature.
“I don’t understand what happens to me, because I don’t do what I want, but what I hate…
I know that in me, that is, in my sinful nature, nothing good dwells. Although I wish to do good, I am not able to do it.”Romans 7:15, 18 NIV
We are natural beings and sin dwells in us, however, we must be clear about this and that we have a constant struggle between spiritual things, such as praying, reading the word and fulfilling it, and natural or secular things, that is, the world and the life.
9. We must decide to put to death what is earthly in us.
“I am a poor wretch! Who will deliver me from this mortal body? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! In conclusion, with the mind I myself submit to the law of God, but my sinful nature is subject to the law of sin.
Romans 7:24-25 NIV
Living according to the Word of God is a constant struggle that we must be aware of, as we explained in the previous lesson, but we must also know that it is a matter of decision.
Many people ask God to deliver them, but really, much of this battle is made by us in deciding to live in a way that pleases God, as opposed to the pace of the world today.
That is why God urges us to strive and be brave, and in this way, He will help us and accompany us.
10. Baptism is a step of obedience and faith.
“Therefore through baptism we were buried with him into his death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the power of the Father, we too might live a new life.”
Romans 6.4 NIV
Many people are afraid of baptism and say “I will do it when I am ready ” but it is really or necessary to be prepared to be baptized, more than having received Jesus Christ in your heart, and being truly sorry for your sins.
Therefore, let us not miss this next opportunity to be Obedient to God through water baptism.
11. We are New Creatures in God
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has gone, it has become new”
2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV
When we receive Jesus Christ in our hearts we become new creatures, therefore, we should no longer weigh the things we have done before knowing God, because God forgives our sins, and we start from scratch.
Of course, we probably have to answer for the consequences of our actions, but in our daily walk hand in hand with God, we will show that God has changed us.
12. God will fulfill his purpose in our lives.
“Yet as it is written:
No eye has seen,
No ear has heard,
No human mind has conceived
What God has prepared for those who love him”1 Corinthians 2.9 NIV
That’s how beautiful the Word of God is, through which our heavenly Father promises us a wonderful life for those who decide to follow him and live according to his will.
