Why do I need the Holy Spirit? This is a commonly asked question in recent times. find out the reason Why you need the Holy Spirit on this post.
Why do I need the Holy Spirit?
The answer is first and foremost that I need power, We need the Holy Spirit to;
1. To Go Beyond Our own limits
No matter how well we intend, it is impossible to come to the life the scriptures speak of on our own. You can be well disposed of. You can have the best desire that exists on earth. But you are really limited. What you can manage to do on your own is limited.
You can learn to discern right from wrong, by referring to your own upbringing or those around you. Your conscience can help you to some extent. And you can be successful in controlling much of the image of yourself that you give to people who see you or things outside. But there is a commandment that applies to the hidden life, and no one can see whether you are breaking it or not: “You shall not covet.” Lust is an inner desire, and because no one can see what is going on in your mind, the law itself cannot “stop” you because you lust.
And there, it’s as if you were rushing straight into the wall.

To Give Us The strength to accomplish the impossible
When you face the desires that arise within you as well as the thoughts that manifest themselves at the time of temptation, your own human capacities, your character traits, and your intentions, however good they may be, will fail you if no help by the holy spirit.
Think of someone like King David. He is described as a man after God’s heart, and even he has failed to live a life of complete victory over sin. When he had to face his own desires, the lust, and lust of the eyes, he simply failed to win. These lusts and desires led him to physically break the law. (2 Samuel 11-12) And David was a very good man, he wasn’t just anybody. In Psalm 51 we can read that he regretted his sins and that he repented of them, but he did not have the necessary strength to overcome them.
The crux of the matter is that we all have corrupt human natures, filled with lusts and desires that go against God’s will. We read in the Bible that these lusts are not only to be rejected but “crucified,” or “put to death. ”(Romans 8, 13, Galatians 5, 24, Colossians 3, 5) But we are simply unable to completely overcome these destructive lusts and desires with our own strength. We need help!
When Jesus was on earth, he promised that after he left he would send the help, the Holy Spirit. He also said, “But you will receive power, the Holy Spirit coming upon you …” Acts 1, 8. And that is the primary purpose of the Holy Spirit: to give us the strength and help us to fully overcome the sin, something impossible for human nature! (Romans 8, 1-17)
To Serve Us Unlimited help and guide
In the beginning, there is no one who knows everything. But the Holy Spirit knows everything because he followed Jesus throughout his life. He knows the traces of Jesus: he knows that he never committed sin although he was tempted in everything because he was a man like us. (Hebrews 4:15, Peter 2, 21-22)
The Holy Spirit can therefore serve as a guide, show you your own sin, and give you the strength to overcome the sin of which you are aware. He can also show you the things you need to cleanse yourself from, unconscious sin: things you weren’t necessarily aware of before. He is called the Spirit of Truth, the Helper, and Teacher, and He can train you in righteousness and give you all the strength you need to live a life of victory!
If you have the Holy Spirit in you, He can actually make things very clear to you. It is not something mystical, “a mystical voice” that you hear as you meditate and telling you what to do. But the Spirit will guide you in the right direction. And you can learn to hear his voice. By being obedient to the Word of God and the injunctions He creates in your heart, you can lend an ear so that you can hear more and in a more distinct way. The Spirit can guide you through all things: this is a great comfort and a reason why he is also called the Comforter.
Jesus described the Spirit that would come after he left. He said, “But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I have said to you. ( John 14:26).
