It is God’s desire to turn the hearts of children to their parents and that parents have their hearts turned to their children. These scriptures on parents are a reminder of what God’s plan is and we encourage everyone to pray that God would actually turn the hearts of those who are separated from family into that family.
Biblical Scriptures on Parents and their role in the family
Psalm 103:13
Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him;
A good father models his upbringing after God. This is very important because the way we raise our Children will have a direct effect on how our children see their Heavenly Father.
If we are too strict then they will grow up seeing God as a harsh and judgmental God, if we don’t discipline at all then they will think that God just allows anything.
How we beget, is how they will see their heavenly Father.
Proverbs 3: 11-12
My son, do not despise the punishment of the LORD, nor detest his correction; 12 For the LORD corrects the one he loves, as the father corrects the son in whom he delights.
This Bible verse on fatherhood goes along with the previous scripture. It is an act of disciplinary love. Children without discipline end up with no boundaries between good and evil.
If you want your child to be successful in life, you must understand the limits.
Ephesians 6:4
And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and admonition of the Lord.
This is the Bible verse that balances parenting, discipline, and being authoritative. If you push your child too hard, it will drive him to the point of anger, and that will make him go in the opposite direction you want him to go. It will bring bitterness to his heart, so my personal rule is that for every correction you bring, you should encourage him with positive things twice as much.
Colossians 3:21
Parents, do not provoke your children, lest they be discouraged.
This verse about parents has the basic concept like the previous one.
Bible verses about parenting responsibilities
Exodus 20:12
Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.
This is the only commandment that comes with a promise. If you honor your father and mother, your days will be long.
This verse should be at the heart of what you do, not just on Father’s Day but throughout the year. It is also something that mothers should model towards the father of their children, otherwise, you are teaching them something that will ultimately harm them.
Bible verses about parents love and influence
Psalms 112:1-2
The blessed state of the righteous.
Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in his commandments. his offspring will be mighty in the land; The generation of the righteous will be blessed
This Bible verse about parents shows how important parents are and how they live their lives.

Final thoughts on parents
A father has the ability to influence and guide the destiny of his children. In fact, a father who walks after God will set the stage for his children to grow up and achieve much more than the father himself could achieve.
If you are not walking after God or you are not sure you know God, then I encourage you to start a personal relationship with Jesus.
