As you may know prayer is essential for our children and families in order to remain alert, aware and discern the voice of God as well as to oppose the enemy’s attacks in our lives. That’s why we thought making a prayer list for little children would be interesting. We must never underestimate the importance of speaking blessing and truth into their lives. Prayer is powerful and its words are true. Below are some powerful prayers that you can and should teach every child.
A prayer for little children about being grateful
God thank you for this day! Thank you for the animals, the flowers, the trees, the lakes and the sun that rises and makes them live each day. Thank you for creating everything we see! Thank you for the life we live, and for making each person different. Thank you for Jesus, who died for us so we can go to heaven one day just by believing in Him. What an amazing God you are! In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Prayer for little children when they are sad
My God, today I’m sad. But you are with me, and ready to help me. You hear me when I cry. I know I can cry and say what’s wrong whenever I need to. Even when I don’t know what to say, I can just pray, “Help me, God, I’m so sad.” You know whatever I’m going through and so will be there. Thank you for always loving me, even when I’m really down. Thank you for this day, even if it wasn’t the best day. Show me how to cheer myself up. Help me to be happy. Help me to see and remember all the good things you have blessed my life with and help dry my tears. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
A prayer for little children for their friends
God, Thank you for being my friend. You tell us it’s not good to be alone, God, and you bless us with family and friends around us. Thank you for giving us people to talk and laugh with. I pray for my friends today, may they have a good day and a blessed life. They are a blessing to me, God, when I need them most, they appear. Just as Jesus is for me. Help me to be kind like Jesus. To be a good friend to others and spread His love. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
A prayer for help
God, Sometimes I don’t feel like talking about what’s wrong. I just want to be distant and sad. I prefer to sit alone. Sometimes things feel too big to digest. Sometimes life seems very unfair. I need your help, God. You are the one who sees everything and knows everything. You are the only one who knows everything about me and can help me trust you. Please teach me to go in the direction of what I feel and give you thanks. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
A prayer for my sister
God, thank you for my sister. You tell us that no family appears by accident. That the people in our lives are put there by You. Thank you for making us sisters. Bless us to be like unique friends every day of our lives. Help me to be a good example for her and to be there for her when she needs my support. Thank you for my sister, God. Bless her today. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
A prayer for my brother
God, thank you for my brother. The people in our lives are put there by You. You love us all as sons and daughters more than we can understand! Thanks for my brother. He is a very special person in my life. Someone who is fun to be around but also understands me. Our friendship is very special, and I look up to him a lot. Please bless him, Lord. Bless my brother and keep him safe, today and always. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
A prayer for little children for their grandparents
God thank you for my grandparents. I love being with them. They always make me feel special and are excited to see me. Please bless them to be healthy and strong. Protect them from harm and keep them happy and safe until I see them again. When I miss them, help me remember all the fun times we had when we were together. Thank you God for my grandparents. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Prayer for little children for their school
God please bless my school. Thanks for all the teachers who work so hard to help us learn. Thank you for lunch and when we got to play with our friends. Thank you for providing a place where we can learn more about the world you’ve created for us to live in and how it works. Keep my school safe. Protect all adults and children who come to school every day. Protect us from harm and help us to be kind to one another. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
A prayer for mother
God, thank you for my mother. It helps me grow into the person you want. Though I don’t always listen, I love her every day… all the time. As you love us. She loves me even when I have good days and when I’m down. Help me to be obedient even when she tells me to do something I don’t want to do. Thank you for my mother. Bless my mother to know how much I love her. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
A prayer for dad
God, thank you for my father. He guides me through life by his example and his helping hand. He teaches me how to do things and helps me with my homework. He works hard at his job for our family and he makes me laugh. Thank you very much for my father. Please bless him God and let him know how much I love him. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
