14 Effective back to school prayers with scriptures

Spread the love

Why back to school prayers with scriptures?
Going back to school brings a host of rollercoaster-like emotions for parents, children, and teachers alike. Younger children are often on edge, while teens have a hard time wondering if they have what it takes for a fresh start.

At the same time, the parents are dealing with their own emotions of being grateful to be back in a stable routine but feeling somewhat homesick and missing the extended time that family togetherness provided.

Teachers are also feeling a full range of emotions. Not only are they often parents of school-age children, but they also feel the pressure to start a new school year strong and make sure their classroom is a safe and comfortable environment, all while getting away from their anxieties.

This sudden life we are living post-COVID-19 has added a new level of concern for everyone involved regarding fear, procedures and protocol.

We are not alone in the new school year, nor as students, parents or teachers. God promises in Proverbs 4:11 that he will instruct us in the way of wisdom and guide us in straight paths. That is true for all of us, regardless of our individual roles or concerns.

As believers, our supreme teacher is the Holy Spirit. “But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have said to you” (John 14:26 ESV).

Whether you are homeschooling, sending your children to public or private school, or have a child who is going to college for the first time, there is reason to pray, and reason to remember that “He who started a good work in you will carry until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6).
