The Omnipotence of God is one of his attributes, which comes to support the power of this divine being, the Omnipotent God.
This attribute shows that God is all powerful. This characteristic of God means that nothing is impossible for Him and there is nothing that is difficult for Him.
The Omnipotence of God
When speaking of omnipotence, this word comes from “omnipotent” which comes from the Latin “omnipotens” which comes from “omni” which means everything.
For its part, the word “potens” which means powerful, this means that it is all-powerful and refers to the attribute of having infinite or limitless power.
God is infinite
In this sense, God is infinite in his power, because for him nothing is impossible.
The omnipotence of God is seen from the creation and preservation of the universe and the human race.
God created everything with the power of his voice, because he only opened his mouth, and everything was created.
And God said: Let there be light, and there was light…Then God said: Let there be an expansion in the midst of the waters and separate the waters from the waters.

God is omnipotent
That means that God’s omnipotence allows him to do what he wants, and nothing and no one can prevent him because he is all-powerful.
“Whatever the Lord wills, he does, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and in all depths” (Psalm 135:6)
God is almighty
God’s attribute of omnipotence shows that He is in control of nature.
He has control of all animals, the oceans, mountains, earthquakes, snowstorms, whirlwinds, storms, the sun, the moon and the stars.
“When I see your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have formed” (Psalms 8:3)
Through Him were created all things that exist through His power.
“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
For by him all things were created, that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible; be thrones, be dominions, be principalities, be powers; everything was created through him and for him.
And he is before all things, and in him, all things hold together” (Colossians 1:15-17)
The Omnipotence of God in the Bible
When speaking of the omnipotence of God in the Bible, it refers to him as the “Almighty” on many occasions, and it is a term that is used only by God.
God revealed himself in his omnipotence at various times.
“And when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said,
I am the Almighty God; walk before me and be perfect” (Genesis 17:1)
“And I will be a Father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty” (2 Cor. 6:18)
“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, saith the Lord, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty” (Revelation 1:8)
Many other passages in the Bible speak of the ultimate nature of God’s omnipotence.
And it gives him the recognition of many men who had that connection with God and knew of his power in everything, for example, Job affirmed it
“I know well that you can do everything, that it is not possible to frustrate any of your plans.” (Job 42:2)
The omnipotence of God extends
The theme of God’s omnipotence extends to governments and their leaders because He has power over everything.
And he still has control in relation to those who reign or position themselves in a nation, thus allowing them to walk according to their plans and purposes.
“He changes times and ages; he removes kings, and sets up kings; gives wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to the prudent” (Daniel 2:21).
The Incarnate God is Jesus Christ
In the same way, omnipotence can be seen represented as the incarnate God in Jesus Christ, who is omnipotent.
His power was seen in the miracles he performed, and in his many healings, in the feeding of the five thousand
“Then he took the five loaves and the two fish, and raising his eyes to heaven, blessed, and broke the loaves, and he gave his disciples to set them before them; and he divided the two fish among all. And they all ate and were satisfied.
And they gathered twelve full baskets from the pieces, and what was left over from the fish. And those who ate were five thousand” (Mark 6:41-44).
In the same way, the omnipotence of God in Jesus manifested that He had the power to lay down his life and to take it up again.
This is a fact that He narrated in an allegorical way when speaking about the temple.
“Jesus answered and said to them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Then the Jews said:
In forty-six years this temple was built, and will you raise it up in three days? But he spoke of the temple of his body” (John 2: 19-21)

Knowing the omnipotence of God, the human being invites him to recognize his power to pour out his heart before Him and to be able to adore and praise Him.
“But I will sing of your power, and I will praise your mercy tomorrow; Because you have been my shelter. And refuge in the day of my trouble” (Psalm 59:16)
The knowledge that gives him omnipotence of God allows man to have the conviction that only through Him can they obtain consolation, love, peace and everything else that is needed.

God not only has power but he has all power, therefore his omnipotence demonstrates an understanding that he created all things.
