2 Corinthians 10: 3 Meaning With Full Explanation KJV

The apostle Paul left us messages rich in wisdom and exhorting us to continue strong in God’s way. They are messages that also confront us so that we do not deviate from the path of justice that the Lord wants us to walk.

In 2 Corinthians 10: 3 we are encouraged to stop walking in the carnal and to seek more spiritual things. This verse says: “For although we walk in the flesh, we do not fight according to the flesh, because the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but powerful in God for the destruction of fortresses, overturning arguments and all arrogance that rises up against the knowledge of God, and taking every thought captive to obedience to Christ.

Here he is reminding us how important it is to stop seeing only what is around us, stop thinking about carnal things and how, instead, we should focus more on feeding our Spirit. This is achieved through the constant relationship with God and that must grow every day more, as well, it is achieved through Faith. As we are told in Hebrews 11.:1 “Faith is the certainty of what it is expected and the conviction of what is not seen ”.

Faith is that powerful key that will open all the doors that the whole world is in charge of telling us that they are closed for us. On the spiritual plane, Faith has the power to change things that are seen in the natural for things that are congruent with the Word of God. Genuine Faith in the heart of a believer has the power to change external circumstances that suddenly seem to be contrary to what one expects, in the things that one desires. As 2 Corinthians 5: 7 tells us, “We walk by faith, not by sight.”

It is a spiritual war that we must wage and not a physical war every time we face a problem. It is on our knees that battles are won and through prayer, God will give us victory. We do not have to be contending with the people with whom we have a problem because that will not solve the situation, we must give everything to God. In Zechariah 4: 6 he tells us “It is not by the army, nor by force, but by my Spirit.”

It is through this spiritual warfare that these fortresses, arguments, and all arrogance that rise up against the knowledge of God will be brought down. Let’s start with the strengths.

Strength in its most common definition is the ability of a person to resist or bear suffering. However, here it refers to spiritual strongholds that are created when we fill our hearts with wrong things such as selfishness, resentment, dishonesty, bitterness, etc. All that is surrounding our hearts will not allow the love of the Spirit of God to enter.

The arguments have been like excuses that support our actions and our wrong way of living. They are like those well-established paradigms that we have had for years and that we do not want to leave.

Haughtiness is synonymous with pride and it is the complete opposite of what God asks of us and that is, to be humble. God does not like people with a proud heart, He wants us to come before His presence with a humble heart and this is when we can remain united to Him and when all that good that comes from Him will be able to flow within us.

Another way to tear down these strongholds, arguments and arrogance is through the complete acceptance of God’s will because only in this way will we be able to keep our thoughts captive to obedience in Christ, who is the author and finisher of the Faith and who came to us. model the correct behavior that the children of God should have.

Lord today I ask you that each day we can submit more to your good, pleasant and perfect will and that Faith, love and your Spirit never stop flowing in us.
