But God demonstrates his love for us in this: that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
(Romans 5:8)
Grace has made possible the most wonderful manifestation of God’s love for us. He was willing to send his Son Jesus to die on the cross so that we all have the opportunity to receive salvation and eternal life. None of us deserved it, but God, in his infinite love, decided to grant us this great gift.
Let’s look at some verses that will help us understand a little better this wonderful concept of God’s grace.
Verses about the grace of God
1. We are saved by grace
For by grace you have been saved through faith; this does not come from you, but is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.
(Ephesians 2:8-9)
It is by the grace of God that we are saved. There is nothing we can do to earn the salvation of our souls. God is the only one with the power to forgive us, the only one who can remove sin from our lives. This he did by sending the perfect Lamb, Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins. By accepting him wholeheartedly as our King and Lord, we receive the gift of eternal life.
2. It allows us to get closer to God
So let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace to help us when we need it most.
(Hebrews 4:16)
God is a close God and we can turn to him at all times. He loves that we approach each other in confidence as a child approaches his loving parent. We should not be afraid because even when God knows all our failures and our sins, he receives us with mercy and grace. When we go to him in humility God forgives us, restores us, and gives us strength to move forward.

3. Grace transforms us
In truth, God has manifested his grace to all humanity, which brings salvation and teaches us to reject impiety and worldly passions. So we can live in this world with justice, mercy and self-control.
(Titus 2:11-12)
God’s grace not only brings us salvation and forgiveness of our sins but also transforms us and helps us to obey God in our daily lives. He teaches us to live the life of godliness that he desires and gives us the courage to reject the things that take us away from him and his will for our lives.
4. It is abundant and it is for everyone
But Adam’s transgression cannot be compared with God’s grace. Well, if by the transgression of one man all died, how much more the gift that came by the grace of one man, Jesus Christ, abounded for all!
(Romans 5:15)
Sin entered the world through Adam and his transgression and with it came physical death. However, God did not leave us abandoned to our fate. He took the initiative, sent Jesus, and through him granted us abundant grace that is available to all. God longs for us to turn from sin and turn to him. It is through Jesus that we receive eternal life, and the forgiveness of our sins, and it is through him that we are reconciled to God.
5. We are justified through Christ
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, but by his grace they are freely justified through the redemption that Christ Jesus accomplished.
(Romans 3:23-24)
By ourselves, we do not deserve or can do anything to be justified before God. We have all sinned, none of us is without guilt and we should pay for all the evil we have done. But God, in his grace, decided to be guided by his great love for each one of us and justified us freely through the death of Jesus on the cross.
Now we can all receive his forgiveness, we don’t have to be slaves to sin because God has already redeemed us through Jesus. We just need to put our faith in Jesus and decide to walk with him to live within his purposes.
