Marriage is ordained by God, o this article is 5 principles of marriage in the bible.

Marriage being a divine institution, no one can find happiness in marriage far from the precepts of the Lord. It is true that the world bombards us from everywhere with examples of marriages that do not hold up in the face of the trials of life. Rising divorce rates, many couples who are little more than shadows of themselves, and broken families, are the consequences of a marriage in which God is not at the center.

A successful marriage is possible since such is the will of God for His children that we are. We are going to see together some biblical principles for a successful marriage.

5 biblical principles for a successful marriage.

Everything God created was good including marriage, these principles of marriage below will be helpful in time of need.

1. Fidelity to one’s spouse.

Hebrews 13:4 Marriage be honored by all, and the marriage bed undefiled, for God will judge harlots and adulterers.

Fidelity in a couple is one of the biblical principles for a successful marriage, God actually says in His Word that what God has united, that Man does not separate. We promised fidelity to our spouse during our marriage and it is our duty to keep our word, whatever the circumstances.

A marriage in which fidelity reigns, sees the blessing and the presence of God become its daily life. This family is blessed and enjoys real stability in the face of any storms they may encounter.

2. The submission of the woman

1 Peter 3:1 Wives, be subject to your husbands in the same way, that if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives.

Just as a woman needs love to be fulfilled, a man can only be happy in a home if his spouse gives him respect through submission. The submission appears to a man as important as the love his spouse expects.

3. Respect and love of man

1 Peter 3:7 Husbands, show wisdom in your dealings with your wives, as with weaker sex; honor them, as also having to inherit with you the grace of life. Let it be so, so that nothing comes to hinder your prayers.

Men also have an obligation to respect their wives. This is one of the conditions for their prayers to be listened to and answered. In a marriage where the wife feels unloved and wrong, there is a risk of resentment and hatred, and the enemy could take advantage of these tensions to stir up trouble in the home.

4. Promote intimacy in the couple.

1 Corinthians 7:3-5, Let the husband render to his wife what he owes her and let the wife do the same to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; and similarly, the husband has no authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive yourselves of each other, except by mutual agreement for a time, in order to attend to prayer; then return together, lest Satan tempts you with your incontinence.

To deprive oneself of one’s spouse is not spiritual, and it even opens the doors to the enemy to seduce by fornication or adultery. That said, the children of God must have a healthy perception of the sexual act in order not to fall into abuse and stop walking in love.

5. Place God at the center of her marriage.

Last but not least, put God at the center of your marriage. The Lord Jesus Himself says it: without Me, you can do nothing. Placing God at the center of your marriage is betting on the success of the latter. We must always bear in mind that all the ordinances God prescribes for us are for our good and we cannot find happiness elsewhere. Putting God at the center of our marriage will bring a special grace to living an extraordinary marriage.
