Spread the love

The characteristics of a virtuous woman have to do with the blessings she receives from God for abiding by God’s principles and doing God’s will. So when a servant of the Lord dedicates her life to her full service, she becomes a blessing to her family and works environment because she emanates the light of Christ.

15 Characteristics of a virtuous woman

A virtuous woman builds her house, she is obedient, displays the fruits of the Holy Spirit, and puts her skills into practice. Among the most outstanding features we find:

1. She is estimated

She is esteemed by all because she reflects the admirable light of Christ, and unlike unbelieving women, she has God as her priority, who is her Lord and her guide at all times. She is kind to her husband and to others and she is obedient to the word of God, as can be seen in this passage:

“Virtuous woman, who will find her? For her esteem far exceeds that of precious stones” ( Proverbs 31:10)

In this sense, a virtuous woman is esteemed, appreciated, excellent, obedient, diligent, and prudent. She knows the word and puts it into practice, putting aside her own interests. That is why her lifestyle is different from that of today’s woman since her entire life belongs to the Lord. She does not seek her own, she seeks the presence of God.

2. She is wise

The virtuous woman is, above all, wise, but this wisdom comes from the Lord, and therefore she can make the best decisions for her benefits and those of her home. She knows that a bad decision can have great consequences, and that is why she acts prudently, always asking our Heavenly Father for direction.

A wise woman makes God’s heart happy and it is a gift to have her since her decisions are not selfish. She only receives the blessings that God wants to give her and thanks to her for everything, for the good and the bad, since she knows that God is in control of all things and that everything builds us up and helps us for good because we are children of the Almighty. of the Most High, of the Lord of hosts.

3. She is a valuable woman

The value of the virtuous woman is invaluable, it is a value that cannot be measured or bought. It is not based on material possessions but emanates from within him, from a humble heart full of the love of the Lord, who seeks to bless his family and his neighbor with his good behavior and his edifying words.

4. She fears the Lord

The woman who fears the Lord is virtuous because she knows that this is an unbreakable principle. The fear of God implies living according to her will and statutes. She does not pretend to make a good impression on others with her physical beauty, but she differs from the rest of the women because her greatest desire is to please God.

5. She is reliable

A virtuous woman is trustworthy, and for this reason, she is fit to lead the home, since she gives priority to the family, and always seeks to be a blessing to her husband: “Her husband’s heart trusts in her, and will have no profit. He gives her good and not evil from her All the days of her life” (Proverbs 31:11-12)

A virtuous woman is a joy for the home, which is her priority, always seeking to maintain harmony. This contrasts with the goals of today’s woman who neglects her home, she is contentious and always likes to party, instead of sharing together with her family.

Today women have become very independent and seek to generate their own income. Which is very positive. But they neglect the home, the children, and their husband, since they cling more to work than to the consolidation of the family and union, giving more importance to the things of the world than to the things of God.

That is why you can see so many dysfunctional families, full of problems, fights, fights. This happens because the most important thing that the Lord has given us has been neglected, and that is the family. Which should be a great blessing in our lives: “The virtuous woman is her husband’s crown; But she is wicked, like rottenness in her bones” (Proverbs 12:4)

This verse shows us that the husband of the virtuous woman has nothing to fear, and can be calm and confident because he knows perfectly well that his wife is a daughter of God who has as a priority to do his will and take care of her family.

She is a woman who will always seek to do what is right in the eyes of God, and always seeks to give a good testimony so as not to embarrass her husband or her family. This brings blessings from above because the Lord rewards the good son and his offspring.

 6. Work with will

As mentioned above, currently women have had to become economically independent and go out to work. However, there must be a balance between my responsibilities as a mother and wife, and work.

If the woman does not build the house, the home breaks down, since God gave the woman spiritual gifts to keep the family together, anointed her with his blessings, and gave her the maternal and fraternal spirit to be that encouragement that is needed to consolidate a home.

If your priority is not your family, your home may be affected, since the mother represents the fundamental basis to build, bless, and harmonize the family environment. Therefore, the woman has a great responsibility on her shoulders, but she has the help of the Almighty, who gives her strength, courage, and fighting spirit. As can be seen in the following biblical quote:

“He seeks wool and linen, And willingly works with his hands. It is like a merchant ship; Bring your bread from afar. He gets up even at night And gives food to his family And rations to his maids. He considers the inheritance, and buys it, And plants a vineyard of the fruit of his hands. He girds his loins with strength and strengthens his arms. He sees that his business is going well; His lamp does not go out at night” (Proverbs 31:13-18)

In this sense, a virtuous woman is hard-working and hard-working, uses her time well, gets up early, serves her family, and attends to them with love. She knows what her priorities are and she always seeks God’s help because she fulfills God’s will.

7. She knows how to manage her home

A virtuous woman knows how to manage her house, her provisions, and her time. She has wisdom from above because she faithfully believes in God: “By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established” (Proverbs 24:3)

In this sense, the virtuous woman has many qualities and one of them is to use her resources very well without wasting anything or improvising irresponsibly. She does not leave things incomplete, but she completes what she started because her goal is to build her house together with her Heavenly Father, who gives her the tools to be able to do it.

8. Protect her health

The virtuous woman keeps her body, mind, and spirit healthy. She knows that her body is the temple and abode of the Holy Spirit, so she does not do anything that could harm her health in general.

She is not reckless and always asks for God’s direction before making hasty decisions that may bring her worries, anguish, and sadness that could weaken her spiritually. In this regard the word exhorts us in the following way:

“…Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, which is in you, which you have from God, and that you are not your own?” (1 Corinthians 6:19)

9. Her beauty flows from the inside

Nowadays, women are very interested in their appearance, in having material possessions, in boasting. But the wise and virtuous woman has other purposes in her life, and she is to take care of her inner beauty that is eternal and that reflects the beauty of the Lord: “A merry heart makes her face beautiful; But because of sorrow in the heart the spirit is broken” (Proverbs 15:13).

10. Instruct and encourage the youngest

Nothing is worth a woman to have knowledge and experience if she does not share them to bless others. The virtuous woman seeks to teach, instruct and exhort the younger ones so that they follow her example and always seek the direction of the Lord and not deviate from the path of truth.

He instructs them to read the word and be nourished by the teachings and gospels that provide us with wisdom and discernment in these end times, where humanity is focused on the things of the world more than on God.

11. She is ingenious and enterprising

She has the ability to fully manage her finances, she is prudent, cautious, and efficient. She is above all ingenious and she always looks for solutions to the problems that may arise. She doesn’t worry, she takes care. She is capable of undertaking, carrying out projects, and creating, since she activates her potential because she knows that God is always by her side.

A virtuous woman cares for and protects her family’s finances since her priority is that they lack nothing. For which she spends what is necessary and seeks the direction of her Heavenly Father who is the owner of the gold and silver.

She perfectly knows the difference between wants and needs. She not only provides in a balanced way, but she thinks of always having a reserve for the future for the moment of scarcity because she plans to be able to face adversity. The word evidences it in this passage: “The wise woman builds her house, But she the fool with her own hands pulls her down” (Proverbs 14:1)

12. Give and receive with joy

A virtuous woman cares about the needy, is kind, servant, charitable and supportive. She acts with joy in her heart in the face of the need of her neighbor: “She stretches out her hand to the poor, And she stretches out her hands to the needy” (Proverbs 14:20)

13. Gives a good testimony of her husband

The virtuous woman is a good wife, she gives a good witness to her husband when he respects her, loves her, and honors her. She does not expose him to public ridicule, she does not discredit him, but rather gives him the place he deserves as a son of God and father of a family.

She knows the value of her husband, she uses her words wisely so as not to cause him any harm, she prays for him constantly, she seeks to share time with him, she does not hold a grudge against him, because she loves him above all things.

In this regard, the word exhorts us in the following way: “Finally, each one of you also loves his wife as himself; and let the wife respect her husband” (Ephesians 5:33)

14. Use her time well

She is an agile housewife, she wastes no time, works diligently at home, and is above all efficient in the tasks she performs. She Invests her time in doing things that are beneficial to her and her family. She always finds time to stay in communion with God. As the word demands:

“Look carefully then how you walk, not as fools but as wise, making the most of the time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:15-16)

In this sense, this quote alerts us to use our time well and to work diligently because times are tough and we have to be prepared for everything. So that God may be glorified in our lives.

15. Her works speak for her

The virtuous woman bears good testimony by doing the will of God and being diligent in her home. By her good deeds, we will know that she is a Daughter of the Most High because she puts on high the name of Jesus Christ. She does not advertise what she makes of herself, because her good deeds define her as a servant of the Lord. She has a life according to her will and is anointed by the Holy Spirit.

True holiness is a product of the genuine relationship we have with God. And that communion is reflected in our daily lives since our home reflects our spirituality, our growth, our dedication, and our diligence.

If we neglect communion with God, we are neglecting our home, since by our own strength we can do nothing. Just as the word says: “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain that build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, the guard keeps watch in vain.” (Psalm 127:1)

In this sense, a virtuous woman is a gift from God, she is a blessing and is very important within the home because she builds the family nucleus together with the Lord. She also has many qualities that make her unique and distinguish her from the rest of the other unbelieving women.

So a virtuous woman is an example to follow in every way. Great women we can see in the bible have these characteristics, such as Mary, Sara, and Raquel, among others.
