James 1: 2: Brethren, regard as a matter of complete joy the various trials to which you may be exposed, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But patience must do its work perfectly, so that you may be perfect and complete, without failing in anything.

Everyone will have hardships in their life. The Christian life is made up of challenges that aim to strengthen us and not to destroy us. When coming out of difficulty we are stronger: Stronger in our mind, in our soul and in our body.

Let us seek the support of God so that we can resist in times of pain.

Prayer to face the storms of life

Lord, it is in the name of Jesus Christ that I pray that You will help me get rid of all my weaknesses. Fill me with faith so that the devil can no longer place bad thoughts in me. You are my shield against the traps of the enemy and against doubts. Work in me so that I become a strong Christian and not a weak one.

I ask You to be present with me in these difficulties, deliver me from this situation that is blocking me. I recognize Lord that without You I cannot do anything so grant me Your compassion so that I can go and seek my victory. I humble myself before You and let You take control. I know this storm in my life won’t be able to destroy me but You are using it to build me up. I pray to stand firm and go all the way hand in hand with You.

It hurts Lord, it’s painful but I trust in Your process. I confess to You that I do not understand everything that is going on, sometimes I am even angry with You because I wonder why You allowed this to happen to me. But deep down in me You know that I love You and I hope in You more than in anyone else.

I don’t want to give up, I don’t want to turn my back, I don’t want to be defeated. I want to triumph, I want to go forward, I want to become powerful and resistant. No weapon forged against me will prosper, and any tongue raised against me will fall under my power. I trust in You Lord and in Your word: all things work together for my good. Maybe I don’t understand what’s going on, I sometimes feel abandoned but You say in Your word that You never abandon the righteous.

I decide to no longer lament my condition, to no longer complain about my life. On the contrary, I am already looking at my success. I keep the joy and happiness in my heart every day. I take refuge in Your Word to console and recharge my batteries. I remain serene thanks to Your presence.

Lord, You are good and Your mercy endures forever. I know that You will not hand me over to myself or to my enemies, and it is with a grateful heart that I thank You for it.
Amen.
