Did you know that the vast majority of God’s people today do not know or seek to know more about God’s ministering angels or ministering spirits?
Many scholars even dare to claim that these beings do not exist or that they are distant and inaccessible to humans.
This problem was caused by a false and unbelieving doctrine that for a long time replaced some truths of the kingdom of the Eternal!
Well, the truth is that God is fixing this flaw in the church’s mentality and the proof of that is that He brought you here to pour out grace and knowledge on you.
Today we will study and present revealing codes from the Lord through the following biblical text:
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent to minister for those who are to be heirs of salvation?
Hebrews 1: 14
We will start this message by instructing you about the meaning of the existence of these beings, ok?! Read on.
What are God’s ministering angels?
Ministering angels are spirits ordained by God, specialists in serving and being around the men (and women of the Lord) who will inherit salvation.
The Bible is clear in stating that God is the one who gives orders to his angels to be around every human being. (read Psalm 91:11 )
The point is that even knowing that God himself ordained and placed these angelic beings to be around men, the church today seems to be saying something like:
“- God, I don’t need any angels, can you give a new order for them to return to His throne because I don’t believe in the action of His creation.”
Beloved, both in the old and new Testaments we see (many times) God seeking to communicate or pass some message to men, and He chooses to do this using angels.
For example, Jesus while on earth ministered with the help of angels and was still served by them, did you know that? (read Mark 1:11-13 )
The book of Revelation is undoubtedly the most revealing of the entire Bible, and do you know how God delivered all this revelation to John? Through an angel!
I want to say that yes, our Father has placed angels to help and serve us, but remember: this does not mean that we must worship them…
Maybe you’re wondering the following: “- That’s right. Angels are ministering spirits, but what are they ministering spirits after all?”
The Bible shows us that angels minister the following spiritual blessings to God’s people:
Ministering Angels of Divine Protection
In fact, many unpleasant things that happen in our lives are the result of our own human choices. However, some of them are the fruit of spiritual warfare, and the angels are super involved with this!
Calm down, I’ll explain it to you briefly… At the beginning of all creation, some angels rebelled against God and the devil was one of those angels!
So, the Lord cast these angels on earth and created the human being who, with physical eyes, is unable to see the spiritual world.
But the fact is that to this day these demonic angels are roaming the earth after anyone they can swallow!
However, to battle with them in the spiritual world, God has given some tools to human beings. Today I will not teach and comment on all these tools, but I will highlight one of them.
This tool is precisely the help of the angels of the Lord who fight against the angels of Satan in order to deliver and protect us from evil attacks.
For he will give his angels charge over you, to guard you in all your ways. Psalm 91: 11
That is, angels are sent by the Lord to minister His protection over the lives of His people, as recorded in the previous verse.
Do you know those supernatural deliverances that men usually say were luck? Yeah, it wasn’t luck, it was the supernatural act of God with his angels to get you out of that accident and situation!
Ministering Angels of Divine Deliverance
There are situations where we can’t do anything else. Have you ever felt like that? Immobilized?
It is a terrible feeling of impotence in the face of the problems we are witnessing and unable to solve, in this situation, the ministering angels of divine liberation appear
you are invited to read what is recorded in the text of Acts 12:6-11. This passage will definitely build your life!
And when Herod was about to summon him, that very night, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers… and the guards at the door were guarding the prison.
Behold, the angel of the Lord came on, and a light shone in the prison; and, touching Peter, woke him up, saying, Get up quickly! And the chains fell from his hands.
The angel said to him: Gird yourself and tie your sandals. And he did so. He further said to him, Throw your cloak behind you and follow me. And going out, she followed him…
When they had passed the first and second guards, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of itself; and having gone out, they went along one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.
And Peter, coming to himself, said: Now I truly know that the Lord sent his angel and delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all that the people of the Jews expected.
Note that in this passage King Herod had arrested the apostle and disciple Peter. However, in prison, Peter was visited by an angel of the Lord who gave him complete release.
Do you believe that God sends his angels to deliver us? When you think you’re alone, God sends angels to help you!
Ministering Angels Supporting Evangelism
God has placed special angels to accompany, guide, and direct the evangelistic ministry:
The angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, Arise and go to the south side, to the way that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza, which is deserted.
And he got up and went. And behold, an Ethiopian man, a eunuch, chief steward of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was overseer of all her treasures, and had gone to Jerusalem to worship.
Acts 8:26-27
In this text, it is recorded that an angel told Philip to go to evangelize in the South and, on the way, Philip found an Ethiopian eunuch, who “by coincidence” came to convert to Christ.
With this, we can clearly see that there are angels who act as ministering spirits to support the evangelism of people.
It is obvious that angels do not have the power to save anyone, but they interfere in the lives of evangelists so that they win souls for the Lord and also interfere in people’s lives so that they look for someone to expose them to the gospel and God’s salvation.
Ministering Angels of Divine Provision
Have you heard of the prophet Elijah?
Although Elijah was a man of the Lord, someone who is dedicated to fulfilling God’s mission for his people, he got tired, frustrated, and felt pain in his soul.
Like Elias, we are faced with situations on a daily basis and we can recognize ourselves in this same condition, constantly dealing with anguish and lack of strength to deal with frustrations.
Elijah went into the desert, walked a whole day, and sat down under a tree. He asked in his heart for death and said: It is enough, O LORD; take my life now, for I am no better than my fathers.
Here’s the Bible passage in full:
And he lay down and slept under a juniper tree; behold, then an angel touched him and said to him, Arise and eat.
And he looked, and, behold, at his head was bread baked on the coals, and a cruse of water; she ate and drank and lay down again.
And the angel of the Lord returned the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat, for the way will be very long for you.
1 Kings 19:4-7
Elijah was being chased, tired, hungry, and thirsty. And behold, God sends him an angel to minister to him the provision of food.
Elijah counted on the Angel sent by God, giving him what he needed at that moment: water and food. Likewise, there are ministering angels responsible for divine provision.
Divine Healing Angels
I’ve had tremendous experiences with this “category” of heavenly beings, where I prayed for people’s healing and contemplated the action of healing ministering angels. It is strong!
But… What is the biblical basis for this? Let’s look at one of them:
Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew Bethesda, having five porches.
In these lay a great multitude of sick people: blind, lame and paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the waters.
For an angel descended at a certain time into the pool and disturbed the water; and the first to go down there, after the movement of the water, was healed of whatever illness he had.
John 5:2-4
In this passage, we see that YES, there are ministering angels of divine healing, who bring God’s healing to his people.
Not that the angel heals by his own power, but he does it using the power of God, the power delegated to him by his Lord, the Most High!
Faced with this fact, we must ask the Lord to send his angels to stir the waters of the spirit in which we are sailing to witness spectacular and constant cures for the glory of God.
Jesus “walked” with God’s ministering angels
We have already seen that angels were present at the beginning of Jesus’ earthly ministry, but what about at the end? Read the following passage:
And going out, he went, as usual, to the Mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him. When he arrived at that place, he said to them: Pray, lest you enter into temptation.
And he withdrew from them about a stone’s throw; and, kneeling down, she prayed, saying, Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me; nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done. And an angel from heaven appeared to him, comforting him.
Luke 22:39-43
Wow… At this very distressing moment in Jesus’ life, when he knew that the time of his crucifixion was coming, God sent an angel to comfort him.
Therefore, the angels of God also minister divine comfort!
We can conclude that: if even Jesus walked and fulfilled his ministry with the help of His angels, who are we to deny this spiritual fact?
Therefore, we have to be attentive when the angels visit us, with the aim of ministering the Father’s blessings to us… We need to believe more in God’s supernatural!
