Every day a believer must be firm in adversity, but many ask themselves a question: How to Strengthen Faith in God, because they do not know how to overcome that fear, pain or anxiety that has distanced them from God, leading them to spiritual blindness.
That is why every believer cannot allow himself to be involved with the world, but rather inject himself with faith through the word of God, which is where that conviction of the existence of God comes from.
This article will guide you in the right ways to strengthen your faith in God.
Strengthening your faith in troubled times
Faith is the most important key to being able to enter the Kingdom of God and receive eternal life, it is what leads the believer to the prophetic destiny to which he has been called by God.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1)
The Bible teaches that faith is of great importance since through it Salvation and eternal life can be obtained.
This is achieved through faith in Jesus Christ, and cannot be achieved by good works or some form of religion.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this not from you, for it is the gift of God: not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
A strengthened faith
God wants people’s faith to be strengthened because through it it is possible to please God.
“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17)
The word of God must fill the lives of all believers, only through it can one walk strengthened in that belief in God.
That is why the Bible does not develop an empty or hollow way, but in a faith that can walk like those men and women of faith that the book of Hebrews 11 speaks about.
“Who by faith conquered kingdoms, did justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, They quenched raging fires, avoided the edge of the knife, drew strength from weakness, grew strong in battle, they put foreign armies to flight. The women received their dead by resurrection; but others were tormented, not accepting the ransom, in order to obtain a better resurrection” (Hebrews 11:33-35).
Faith is the resource of Heaven
Faith is the most valuable resource and the key for all believers since through faith God’s approval can be received
“And all these, approved by the testimony of faith” (Hebrews 11:39)
Faith is the gasoline that must be in believers at all times, and it is so important to God that the Bible explains that God does not want faith to be lacking in the midst of trials.
“But without faith, it is impossible to please God; because he who comes to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him” (Hebrews 11:6).
Jesus prays for Peter’s faith
And Jesus manifests it, when he asks for Peter, before facing the test.
“The Lord also said: Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has asked you to sift you like wheat; but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, once returned, confirm your brothers.” (Luke 22:31-32)
It is in this period of adversity and trial that the growth of faith will be experienced.
It should be noted something Jesus prayed was so that Peter would not weaken his faith, and not so that the test would not come, that means that more than being kept from trials, God wants faith never to be lacking in his children.
Faith in Adversity
In the Bible, there are a large number of events where in the midst of adversity God acted in favour of the need.
It is imperative to analyze each one of them because they all came believing with faith in their hearts, not only in the power of God but also in the desire that God would act in favour of the need they had.
In this sense, some of these examples can be seen below:
“And behold, a woman sick with an issue of blood for twelve years came up behind him and touched the hem of his cloak; because she said within herself: If I only touch his cloak, I will be saved. But Jesus, turning and looking at her, said:
I encourage you, daughter, your faith has saved you. And the woman was saved from that hour” (Matthew 9:20-22)
“And when he came to the house, the blind men came to him; and Jesus said to them: Do you believe that I can do this? They said: Yes, Lord. Then he touched their eyes, saying:
According to your faith be it done to you. And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly charged them, saying, Take heed that no man knows” (Matthew 9:28-30)
Just like these, there are many other miracles that were given by faith, these people did not doubt the power of God.
However, when Jesus was in Nazareth, the panorama was different since the people of this region had no faith.
“And they were offended at him. But Jesus said to them: There is no prophet without honor except in his land and in his house.
And he did not do many wonders there, because of their unbelief” (Matthew 13:57-58).
With this, it can be understood that God is not moved by the hand of the needs or adversities that may be suffering, but faith, trust in the love and power of God in the face of that which adversely affects him in life.

How to Strengthen Faith in God
In the Bible, there are many moments where Jesus exhorted his disciples for their lack of faith.
And yet, in this time God exhorts his children to stand firm and to walk convinced that God is by their side at all times.
However, in the believer’s mind comes the question: How to strengthen faith in God?
It is there where followers of Christ must comply with a series of steps to strengthen their faith in the Lord, and they are the following things:
Listening to the Word of God
The word of God is the vitamin that faith needs, it is through it that one can receive the strength, the peace, the teaching, and the impulse that every believer requires.
“All Scripture is inspired by God, and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be completely complete, equipped for every good work” (2nd Timothy 3:16-17).
When you scrutinize the Word of God daily, you will be receiving spiritual food, the one that comes to strengthen your faith in God.
And so away the negative voices, where human emotions do not weaken her, but every day she walks strong in God.
That way you will know what God says, for this, you must study in the Bible the words that He inspired.
Those words explain how he wants each person to live, and he says what he will do for their lives.
In the Bible, you will find many stories about how God intervenes in the lives of individuals, families, nations and, in fact, all of humanity.
Praying to God
A prayer is a tool that connects heaven with man, it is through it that God speaks to the believer.
It is through prayer that faith is placed in God, and in this way, the bond between the son and Heavenly Father is strengthened.
“Then they removed the stone from where the dead man had been laid. And Jesus, looking up, said:
Father, I thank you for having heard me. I knew that you always hear me; but I said it because of the crowd that is around, I said it so that they believe that you have sent me. And having said these things, he cried out with a loud voice: Lazarus, come out.
And he who had died went out, his hands and feet bound with bandages, and his face wrapped in a shroud. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go” (John 11:41-44).
Faith must be deposited in the Lord and not in human capacities.
You should not rely on skills or wealth, when you are close to God you can ask for his support with confidence and He will grant what you ask for.
That is why prayer is vital to strengthen faith, and that is why King David prayed three times a day.
Prayer is the way in which love is expressed to the Lord, as well as concerns are presented, in a sincere way to God.
All this will help strengthen faith, since Jesus assures that whatever is asked in his name, God will give.
“And whatever you ask of the Father in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son” (John 14:13)
Obeying the Word of God
Knowing the Bible and its mandates must be accompanied by obedience to what you learn since that is the result of understanding the things to which God is calling his children and being able to understand that love of God.
“So also faith, if it does not have works, is dead in itself” (James 2:17)
This means that as human beings, fear can come to life, accompanied by a lack of faith and that leads to disobedience.
But if you act casting all fear aside, and walk in obedience, and in faith, you will be able to see the power of God.
Having sincere obedience is the most reliable expression of faith because it is the response to all the gratitude that God has done in the life of the believer.
It is that natural reaction of one who wants to be close to God, Jesus promised that anyone who obeyed his teaching and believed in Him would have a genuine relationship with Him and with the Father.
“Jesus answered and said to him, Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our abode with him” (John 14:23).
This shows that you can tangibly experience the presence of Jesus and the Father, as long as you obey.
All this occurs in a supernatural way to strengthen faith because they will have a special visit from God in their lives, which will unite them with bonds of love in faith.
In this way, it can be said that by exercising the reading of the Word of God, prayer and obedience will help strengthen faith.
This will be reflected in the behaviour of the person, who will walk without fear, without anguish, without pain, but full of the presence of God and the confidence that before the Almighty guarding him against what may happen in his life.
