Spread the love

When speaking about faith in God, we refer to the affirmation that He is real in the believer’s life, and it is through His power that each of the deepest requests of the hearts of those who approach Him can be granted. with love and faith. This article will in  trusting God in difficult times

Faith is known as the virtue that a person has in believing in something, and it is the fundamental basis of the Christian life that is directly in the certainty that God is present, and will do according to his will.

What is Faith in God

When talking about faith, you can get many concepts that define it as the set of beliefs that a person can have.

It also refers to the trust or a good concept that a person can have towards a situation.

While in the Christian life it is considered the virtue that affirms the existence of God.

And the Bible directly teaches the concept of this much-used term:

(Hebrews 11:1-3)

“Faith, then, is the certainty of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Because of her, the ancients obtained a good testimony.

By faith, we understand that the universe was created by the word of God so that what is seen was not made out of what was seen.

It is important to analyze some words that the apostle Paul says when giving the concept of faith, and for this, they will be detailed below:

1. Certainty

This term refers to the security that a person has about some truth, being a word of Hebrew origin that is “aken”.

This word is used to assert something with emphasis, which is determined in absolute confidence.

It is having the basis of all certainty determined in what is written in the Bible, seeing the promises of God.

3. Patient

When he talks about waiting, it means keeping the hope of getting what you want, expecting to believe something that will happen.

It is to have expectations in a special way if it is favourable, in this sense it is to be still in a place waiting for something to happen.

This is directly related to the promises of God in the life of a person, who puts trust in Him.

It is to trust in that peace that you will have the tranquillity and security that you will see fulfilled everything that He has promised.

3. Conviction

It is related to having the certainty and acceptance of something, this comes from within a person.

It becomes that feeling of absolute security about some situation or person, it is believing without doubting.

When a person’s conviction about something or someone is achieved, it develops through the conjunction of several elements such as the experiences and that relationship they have had.

In this sense, the Bible teaches that this conviction must be developed in the believer, and be convinced of the power of God.

It is being able to meet him daily, to have that identity of a son who loves his father with his heart.

4. Good testimonial

When he talks about the good testimony that these men had in the past, he is referring to developing the bond of faith.

It is to declare the veracity of a fact for which demonstrations must be made, implying that it is a witness of what it proclaims.

That good testimony is not limited to the oral statement, but to their actions, in their conduct.

That is the proof and evidence of the relationship with God, which allows you to demonstrate how tangible the presence of God is in your life.

5. By the Word, it was made

This speaks that in the power of the oral statement you get the result of that certainty of something you want.

In this way, when God created all things, he did it with that conviction and certainty of having what he wanted to do in his mind.

“Then God said: Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and rule over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the heavens, over the beasts, over all the earth, and over every animal that creeps on the earth.

And God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female he created. And God blessed them and said to them: Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the heavens, and in all the beasts that move on the earth. And God said: Behold, I have given you every plant that bears seed, which is over all the earth, and every tree that bears fruit and bears seed; they will be for you to eat” (Genesis 1:26-29)

This biblical quote refers to the fact that God through the Word created man in his image and likeness.

That means that God wants his creation to be able to believe with his heart, to see tangible the desires that he would receive healing, he obtained it by his faith.

How to Have Faith in God in hard times

Below comes the steps to keep your faith in hard times

In order to develop faith, a person must have that direct relationship with the source of power in whom he believes, that is, in God.

In this way, the Bible teaches how to get that injection of conviction in God.

“So faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17)

In this sense, people must seek God‘s presence daily, reading his word, and meditating on it.

Being able to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you the truth of who God is, and in this way strengthen your relationship with the creator of all things.

The apostles said to the Lord: Increase our faith. Then the Lord said: If you have faith as a mustard seed, you could say to this sycamore: Uproot yourself and plant yourself in the sea; and I would obey you” (Luke 17:5-6)

In this verse where the disciples asked Jesus to increase their faith, He replied that with a small portion of a small grain they could obtain everything they want.

In this way, this means that it is not the size, it is the conviction with which each person sees the creator God, to receive that blessing.

“But ask with faith, not doubting anything; because he who doubts is like the wave of the sea, that is carried by the wind and tossed from one place to another” (James 1:6).

It is to maintain the conviction that God is real, without doubting what he is asking for, convinced that the Heavenly Father in his perfect will be able to determine the time and thus receive what he longs for in his heart.

“But without faith, it is impossible to please God; because it is necessary that the one who approaches God believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him” (Hebrews 11:6).

It is that every day the relationship with God is strengthened, in such a way that doubt does not come to your mind.

Allow God’s purpose to be fulfilled in your life, by having full knowledge, which will lead you to perfect unity with God.

As his word in Ephesians says:

“Until we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:13).

Faith in God changes lives

Jesus came to earth to show the power of God through miracles and deeds, which could be seen by unbelievers.

In this way, he changed the lives of those who did not believe in him and increased the faith of those who did trust in his power.

“When Jesus went to Jerusalem, he passed between Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered a village, ten men with leprosy met him,

who stood at a distance and raised their voices, saying: Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!

When he saw them, he said to them: Go, show yourselves to the priests. And it happened that as they were going they were cleaned.

Then one of them, seeing that he had been healed, returned, glorifying God with a loud voice, and fell on his face to the ground at his feet, giving him thanks;

and this one was a Samaritan. Jesus answered and said, Are not ten those who were cleansed? And the nine, where are they?

Was there no one who returned and gave glory to God but this foreigner? And he said to him: Get up, go; your faith has saved you” (Luke 17:5:11-19)

This passage talks about how a group of lepers who were rejected at that time and were not allowed to be in activities of daily life, were able to receive healing from the power of God that Jesus emanated.

This means that faith is not defined by social status, or even by the knowledge that a person may have.

Faith is linked with the longing of a heart that truly recognizes the majesty and power of God.

“Then they came to Jericho; And as they left Jericho, he and his disciples and a great multitude, Bartimaeus the blind,

The son of Timaeus was sitting by the roadside begging. And hearing that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say:

Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me! And many rebuked him to be silent, but he cried out much more:

Son of David, have mercy on me! Then Jesus, stopping, sent for him; and called the blind man,

saying to him: Have confidence; get up, it calls you. He then, throwing off his cloak, got up and came to Jesus.

Answering Jesus, he said to him: What do you want me to do for you? And the blind man said to him: Teacher, let him recover his sight. And Jesus said to him:

Go, your faith has saved you. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus on the way” (Mark 10: 46-52)

In each of these examples presented above, there were people who had heard of Jesus and came asking Him to touch them and receive the miracle of healing.

However, in the Bible, there is a story where Jesus did not approach the person who needed healing, but it was she who with conviction said that he would touch the source of healing.

“But a woman who had suffered from an issue of blood for twelve years, and had suffered much from many doctors, and spent all that he had, and had profited nothing, before things were worse for him when he heard about Jesus, he came from behind in the crowd

and touched his cloak. Because she said: If I only touch her cloak, I will be saved. And immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up;

and she felt in her body that she was healed of that scourge. Then Jesus, knowing in himself the power that had gone out of him, turned to the crowd, and he said: Who has touched my clothes? His disciples said to him: You see that the crowd squeezes you, and you say:

Who has touched me? But he looked around to see who had done this. Then the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had been done to her, she came and prostrated herself before him, and told him the whole truth.

And he said to her: Daughter, your faith has made you saved; she sees in peace, and she is healed from your scourge” (Mark 5:25-34)

This example allows us to see how the conviction of that woman and her unwavering faith in God moved her into action, in order to receive that healing that she longed for.

It is with faith that you can receive the blessings of God, who will build in each life what He has promised.

It is for this reason that God wants all his children to be like a child, since the child does not question things.

But he believes them with his heart, so they can enter the kingdom of heaven in the same way that He had it.

“Assuredly, I say to you, whoever did not receive the kingdom of God as a child will never enter it” (Mark 10:15)

God wants people to be like a child who has a father who has promised him something, in whom he fully trusts everything he has said.

In such a way that he does not doubt, but his heart awaits the longed-for gift that he has promised.

It is that relationship that God wants to develop among believers on a daily basis, that they seek him daily through prayer, knowledge of the Holy Scriptures, and strengthen their faith that God will work in their lives to bring them a blessing.
