Worship and
praise have been used in the Bible by many men of God in difficult times. What is Worship? Here are the Effective ways to worship God accordingly as a means of support in difficult moments of life. In the past, we have all but wounded, even from a mother’s womb, even you have done things, the memory of which is constantly haunting you.

Check out the selection of 30 effective ways worship will enrich your Christian life and bring you closer to God.

What is worship

According to the Greek, the word adoration has to do with the fact of prostrating or exalting something, be it an object or people. It is a type of attitude of the heart, which seeks to please and serve someone without any interest in receiving something in return.

In the Christian life, the person who worships is called the Worshiper, but this character may be doing it in two ways: in spirit and in truth, which are the 2 main ways in which the human being can worship, in this case to God. In the Bible, many verses talk about worship and also about praise. Among them, we can mention John 4:23-24.

Types of worship according to the bible.

There are two important forms that the Bible mentions of worshiping God and they are the following:

  • Worship in spirit: Worship in spirit has nothing to do with bowing down or some other physical activity, which designates worship. It has to do with the inner SELF of the human being, where he worships from the depths of his being and mind. For Christians to worship in spirit, they must have something of the utmost importance within their inner Self.

The Holy Spirit of God, there is no way to worship in spirit, without knowing the person of the Holy Spirit, which we invite into our lives, and from that moment that he begins to reign, he is indicating the correct way to worship in spirit to our God. Who more than the same spirit, to teach us how to worship.

For this, we must be sorry for all our sins and mistakes, also be willing to change and be transformed by God, from the inside out. Worshiping in spirit begins from within us until we successfully externalize it.

  • Worship in truth: the truth is something that characterizes a true worshiper, to worship in truth, the Christian must externalize that change that came through the spirit, with signs of change in his personality, overflowing with love, respect, tolerance, gratitude, kindness among many other aspects of physical well-being.

For this to be achieved, the Christian must know the Bible in such a way that if he knows about God, he will be able to know whom he is worshiping, since someone cannot worship something that he has not seen or does not know. Worshiping in truth implies knowing here in this worshiping and what are the benefits of worshiping him. The Christian, who truly worships, shows testimony that God is within his being through his good deeds with others.

A Christian cannot pretend to say that he truly worships God, knows nothing of the Bible, and consequently does not know God at all. The difference between worshiping God in spirit and truth is that when worshiping in spirit, we do it from our being and mind, while when doing it in truth we externalize what we feel towards God, with acts of truth and humiliation towards him, as kneel and give thanks with our actions.

Difference between praise and worship.

Worship and praise, together as concepts are different, but at the same time similar. They are of great value to the Christian in his life, hence the importance of being clear about the concepts and their differences between these two words. The purpose of these two concepts is the same, and it is the fact of magnifying or exalting the name of our Lord Jesus.

We will first define the word Praise since the word adoration has already been defined previously. According to Hebrew, praise is the meaning of singing, shouting, raising your voice, magnifying something or someone, such as when you congratulate someone for something they did well.

Praising God has to do with thanking God for all the good that he has allowed in our lives, and also for the bad that has come. Praise can be described either through a song or writing, where the name of God is being exalted. Praise is nothing more than an instrument to worship God.

Therefore, the difference between praise and adoration is that praise is one of how we can communicate with God, and it can also be worshipped. While worship is the act of showing God all our gratitude.

Examples of praise

  • Oh Lord how beautiful you are, nobody is like you my God!!
  • !! You are splendid, unforgettable sir, my only love is you, there is no one greater than you in my life!! I love you Sr!!

How being a person prospers through the worship of God.

Understanding that worshiping God is giving everything, also has to do with sowing.
In the Bible God talks about sowing and says the following: “do not deceive yourselves, for no one mocks God”. Each person will reap what they sow” Galatians 6:7.

We need to understand that the worship of the father has to do with sowing, obedience, and honor. God, in the Bible, asks us to prove it by bringing the tithes to the church: “Bring the tithe to the church, that way there will be food in my house, try me in this says the Lord and you will see that I will open the gates of heaven on you and I will pour out many blessings.” Malachi 3:10.

Tithing is a mandate from God, you must be wise and place a seed in a place where you know it will bear fruit. To know if the church where you congregate is bearing fruit, it must have the following aspects: if you see that souls are converting to God, if the sick are healed, if the demon-possessed are free from their ties, if social action is part of your church

Sometimes people want prosperity, especially Christians, but aren’t willing to pay the price or don’t have the right heart to deal with money. We must have a right heart when we have money.
If we are good administrators, God is going to give us a lot, but if we don’t know how to manage the little, we won’t know how to do it when we have a lot.

When you do things for God, with a humble and correct heart, when you obey his word, when you sow, tithe, and give to someone more than what he has asked you, the reward is great so that God does not need our money. , but if you need to observe, that even in that we are capable of obeying.

7 ways to leave the past behind

It is necessary to leave the past behind, to worship God in spirit and truth. With a heart full of hate and grudges, it will make it impossible to worship God. Here are the 7 ways to leave the past behind and begin a God-filled present.

  1. Leaving the past behind implies letting go of bad habits, bad memories, bad friendships, forgiving, and leaving things that torment us and do not let us advance in our walk-in, Christ Jesus.

  2. It is necessary to heal the soul, through forgiving others and ourselves, so that in this way you can receive all the blessings that as a child of God correspond to you.

  3. Start, to confess with the mouth words of blessing and not of curse to our lives.

  4. To no longer remember the betrayal you suffered. If you decided to forgive and move on, you must do it from the heart.

  5. Tell God yesterday because, God made a presence within you, and what you do with that present will depend on your future.

  6. In times of trouble, don’t go to the trunk of memories, go to the Bible that has a word of life that will fill you with the strength to move forward.

  7. Take it positive from the past, find a way to help others so that they don’t live the same experiences that you have lived.

NOTE.

Forgive, remember that yesterday is over, renounce all spirits of guilt, rejection, adultery, and misery, remove them from your life in the name of Jesus, and keep with great pride the fact of being a son of God, rejoice because you are a new creature in God and you have a new opportunity to be happy and change your future.

30 ways to worship God accordingly

Many believers think to worship God is only when they sing worship songs in church services on a Sunday morning. However, there is more to it than that.

Put together below is 30 effective ways worship will enrich your Christian life and bring you closer to God.

1. The intersection Prayer.

Most of the time, we do not give importance to prayer, we must sit down and analyze, what are those topics for which we pray frequently. An example of the question we must ask ourselves is how much time are we dedicating to communion with God? For whom are we asking more, for ourselves or someone else? Undoubtedly.

God would like that in our prayers we can tell him what has happened to us during the day, but he also asks us to focus on him when we pray, so that we can get to know him more. When our prayers are full of praises towards God, and genuine words towards him, we put our spiritual life on another level of intimacy.

And it is in this way that Jesus, before leaving this earth by rising from the dead, told us how to pray correctly to the father who is in heaven. In the Bible, we can see how Jesus teaches us to pray. Matthew 6:9; 13.

As we can see, Jesus, before beginning to ask for anything, which could have led him to the beginning of that prayer, first began to speak of God, which means that our prayer from now on should be focused first on God and then on God. The U.S. Giving him that first place that God deserves in our lives is an act of worship. I invite you to read a little more about prayer.

2. We must know the Bible.

To worship God, we must know who we are worshiping, so that the only opportunity we have to know about God is by reading his word. The word of God is described in the Bible, we must be clear about who God is since it brings us closer to the truth. That way we can have true and understanding worship.

3. Worship through Gratitude

To get to the point of being grateful to God, we must look at life differently, unlike how other human beings can see it. We must ask God to give us spiritual eyes to be able to see what other people cannot see. We must begin to see life as a beautiful gift from God.

I must insist on the fact that giving thanks to God for everything means being grateful even for the bad things that have happened to us in life. God allows every circumstance in life with a divine purpose, we just have to know how to have gratitude in our hearts.

4. Humble ourselves before God

Many people believe they are self-sufficient, to do everything in life. They are not able to go before the presence of God and ask for help, that is not humility and God does not like people like that. Humbling ourselves before God has to do with giving him all the areas of our life so that he is the one who is in charge of changing them and helping us overcome them.

When you feel that you can no longer handle something, just go to the presence of God, and leave everything in his hands, that is humiliation and that pleases God. It would be a great blessing for you to ask yourself, what are those areas of your life that you have not yet been able to surrender to God? So that you can reflect on each of them, to deliver them to God. A worshiper can surrender all areas of his life to God so that he is the one who governs.

5. New and unique songs for God

In the secular world, there is a diversity of songs created by famous singers, whom God uses to worship him. Even we use the lyrics of those songs, to sing to God. It is important to know that God is very pleased when in your intimacy, songs never before written or heard by anyone can come out.

Originality is something that pleases God and makes you a true worshiper. It does not matter if you do not have the most melodious voice, the important thing is your heart, if you are doing it to please God, he will surely be pleased with your voice and your new song.

6. Worship the Lord in Spirit and Truth

In a well-known episode from the New Testament, in John 4:23, Jesus told the Samaritan woman what the Father is seeking in His true worshipers. That message of Christ taught us that worship is no longer about following outward rituals that may hide a non-committed participant, as it was in the Old Testament days. Our worship must be a truthful expression that connects us to the Father on a deep spiritual level.

Worshiping in spirit and truth requires both our emotions and our knowledge of God. It is neither only about feelings nor only about the intellectual understanding of who God is – it is about both. We worship God with our hearts and with our minds as well.

True worship is only possible because of the mediation of Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5) and the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives (John 14:15-18). Keep that in mind when you worship God, no matter how you do it.

7. Worship Through the word

Genuine worship and praise require “truth” (John 4:23), so we need to go to the Bible to find it. Praise is the expression of admiration for who God is and what He has done. Worship is an act of devotion, reverence, and submission to Him.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” (2 Timothy 3:16 KJV)

We need to know what God revealed about Himself in Scripture. We need the Bible to tell us what is true about the Lord and to give us examples so we know how to properly relate to Him.

If we praise or worship a figure of our imagination, then it is not the true God from the Bible we are praising or worshiping. To get started, go to the book of Psalms. You will find many beautiful songs and prayers of praise and worship there.

8. Worship Through Prayer

Prayer is not just a way to send requests to God. It is the act of communicating with the Almighty. A fundamental element of this communication is praising and worshiping Him.

Make sure to have a moment to connect to God on a deeper level during your quiet time. In your prayers, praise God for who He is and what He has done, and let it lead you to worship Him, to surrender your life to Him, and to acknowledge Him as your Lord. Include prayers of praise and worship in your daily life, for the Lord is worthy of our praise.

9. Worship Through Thanksgiving

By him, therefore, let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.” (Hebrews 13:15)

When you think about who God is and what He has done, rejoice and be thankful to Him. Focus on the good things God has given you, especially during difficult times. Gratitude prevents you from focusing on the negative aspects of your life.

When we pay attention to what we have instead of what we lost or what we wish we had, we realize how God has taken care of us during the hard times and the good times as well. So, make a daily inventory of your life during your prayer time, be thankful, praise and worship your Heavenly Father for everything He has done.

10. Worship Through Singing

I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.” (Psalm 104:33 KJV)
When we talk about praise and worship, most Christians often think about worship music. They picture the church building, the worship leader, the band with stringed instruments, and the whole congregation ready to sing praises to the Lord. Then comes the first notes from a jubilant song, and soon everyone is worshiping the Lord God Almighty with their hands raised high.

This is indeed a powerful way to praise and worship the Holy God. Corporate worship is important for our Christian life. But keep in mind that you can worship through music privately too. Use music in your quiet time, and let it help you connect with the Lord. So, turn up the volume and sing praises to our Good Father, raise high the name of the Lord Jesus, and exalt the Spirit of God!

11. Worship Through Acknowledgment

Our memory often fails us. But we cannot let that be an excuse to dismiss what our Father God has done for us. The Bible tells us what happened when the people of Israel forgot about their past, about all the good things that God had done for them. They ended up drifting away from the Lord. They worshiped idols instead of the one true God.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:” (Psalm 103:2 KJV)

When we fail to remember the steadfast love of the God of the Universe, it is our most tragic loss. So, make it a personal goal to keep track and remember what God has done in your life.

12. Worship Through Your Testimony

Look at your life. You will find a lot to say about God’s love, grace, and mercy. Even during hard times, we can find many reasons to praise Him. So, do not be silent about it. Jesus called us to be witnesses of Him no matter where we are (Acts 1:8).

A witness tells of what they saw or heard themselves. So tell the truth about what Jesus Christ has done for you to the people you know. Tell them about what you have seen and heard. Let them know how good our God is and everything He has done in your life.

Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.” (Psalm 150:2 KJV)

13. Worship Through Serving Others

Jesus said that He came to the world not to be served but to serve. He told us to follow His example by serving and loving others as well (Mark 10:44-45). We must not use our gifts from God for our gain but in service for those close to us (1 Peter 4:10).

Imitating Christ and using God’s gifts and opportunities the way He wants us to are excellent ways to worship Him and show our devotion and reverence for our beloved Father. So we must get out of our comfort zones and do what pleases the Lord.

For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” (Galatians 5:13 NKJV)

14. Worship Through Your Words

Everything that we say has an impact. There is no doubt that words are powerful. We may bless or curse a person with only our words. We may heal or hurt them in just a moment, depending on what we choose to say.

So we need to be intentional and use our words wisely. First and foremost, our words need to bring glory to God (Colossians 3:17). Do your best to use your words to worship the Lord in every way, by saying words of praise to Him or by blessing other people with them in His Holy Name.

Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honor all the day.” (Psalm 71:8 KJV)

15. Worship Through Marveling at God’s Creation

We learn about the character of God by observing everything He created, the work of His hands. The more we know about the Universe, the more we are in awe of God’s majestic power. No matter if we look at the biggest stars in the sky or the tiniest creatures on Earth, everything shows us how amazing our God is.

Take some time every day to observe creation in its details and let it show you the glory of our awesome God. Worship the Creator of the beauty you see all around you.

The heavens declare the glory of God, And the firmament shows His handiwork.” (Psalm 19:1 NKJV)

16. Worship Through Body Expressions

The Bible shows us that servants of God worshiped Him not only with words, but they used their very bodies to demonstrate their devotion to the Lord. Here are some examples of physical postures used as expressions of worship:

  • Lifting hands (Psalm 141:2)
  • Clapping hands (Psalm 47:1)
  • Bowing down (Psalm 95:6)
  • Kneeling (Psalm 95:6)
  • Dancing (Psalm 149:3)

The Bible tells us that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and we should glorify God with our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Use these biblical examples to express your joy and reverence for Him.

Please keep in mind that the leadership of the local church may recommend that members avoid using body expressions that, although being legitimate in a biblical sense, may not be appropriate for the public services in a specific place or culture. In that case, respect their recommendations and use body expressions at home, in your private worship moments.

I appeal to you, therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” (Romans 12:1 ESV)

17. Worship Through Memorizing Bible Verses

One of the most important things about our relationship with the Lord is knowing the Bible. Thus we need time for Bible study and meditation in our daily lives.

We also need to practice the habit of memorizing verses and portions of the Bible. Learning the Word of God and committing it to our memories helps us in many ways. That includes our moments of worship and our prayers of praise when we use those verses to adore the Almighty God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:” (Proverbs 3:1 KJV)

18. Worship Through Meditating on the Bible

We’ve talked about reading, studying, and memorizing the Bible. It is the Word of God, the revelation that He gave us about Himself. But we need to be careful to avoid a shallow approach to our Bible reading time.

It is not just about gaining intellectual knowledge. We also need to let it reach our hearts and change our lives. We need to meditate on what we read and study so it can make an impact on the way we think and renew our minds (Romans 12:2).

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law, he meditates day and night.” (Psalm 1:2)

19. Worship Through Confessing Sins

Sin keeps the sinner away from God (Romans 3:23). Jesus has already provided a solution to the problem of sin: His blood that was shed on the cross and His own life that was given to pay for all our sins.

Even though our sins are paid for and forgiven, we need to confess them. It is for our benefit. We need to acknowledge that we did something that was against the will of God and express our sorrow for it. We also take hold of God’s promise of forgiveness. When we do that, it is a great way to worship the Lord, by believing and trusting His Word, and honoring Jesus’s sacrifice for us.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9 KJV)

20. Worship Through Obedience

True worship implies a willingness to obey God’s Word. When you worship God, you submit to Him humbly and reverently, recognizing that He is the Lord of your life. Obedience is an outcome of that.

A true believer obeys the word of God out of love for Him (John 14:15; Matthew 22:36-38). But we need to put our energy and will into it. Obedience doesn’t come easily. We depend upon the help of the Spirit of God to do it. And the more we know and love the Lord, the more we truly want to obey Him.

If you love Me, keep My commandments.” (John 14:15)

21. Worship Through Journaling

Our memories of what the good Lord has done for us help us in our praise and worship of God. If we let the good things He has done vanish from our memories, we fail to acknowledge His goodness and be grateful to Him.

But you can easily avoid that. Use a journal to record what the Lord has done in your life. Write about the events and what you felt. Write down your prayers and the answers you received. Then, use your journal while you read your devotionals. It will help you remember and inspire you to praise and worship the Lord.

This will be written for the generation to come, that a people yet to be created may praise the Lord.” (Psalm 102:18 NKJV)

22. Worship Through Giving

Money is a sensitive subject for every one (1 Timothy 6:10). Many people abuse it or are abused by those who have much of it (Proverbs 22:7). But the Lord has called us to serve Him, not money (Matthew 6:24).

Money can be a blessing if we don’t allow it to govern our lives. We need to use it wisely and understand that it is God who provides for our needs (Hebrews 13:5). So, using your money to bless your church and people in need is a great way to testify about God’s provision in your life and to show how you trust Him to continue providing for your needs (Philippians 4:19).

So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7 NKJV)

23. Worship Through Fellowship and Community in the Church

When we talk about worship in the church, we usually think about the corporate worship moments during the services. That’s when the whole congregation sing songs of praise to God. Those are important and powerful moments indeed. However, it is a good idea to also think of more ways to worship the Lord in the community.

The fellowship between believers is a beautiful testimony of God’s goodness. So, be intentional in pursuing deeper relationships in your community of faith. Gather together to tell each other testimonies and worship the Lord. We, the children of God, are meant to help each other grow in faith as part of our loving family (Hebrews 10:25).

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” (Colossians 3:16 KJV)

24. Worship Through Your Work

Many Christians separate their work life and their faith as if they were incompatible. But our faith is who we are. We are children of God, no matter where we are or what we do for a living.

It doesn’t mean that we have to preach all the time. But we do have to live and work in a way that glorifies and honors God. When our colleagues and customers know that we are Christians, our lives should be a good testimony to them for our Lord. The apostle Paul said that we should work hard as if our boss were Jesus Himself (Colossians 3:23-24). Keep that in mind and do your work in a way to worship the name of the Lord.

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.” (Colossians 3:23-24 NKJV)

25. Worship Through Your Life

Everything we do reflects what we believe. People who know that we are believers will often shape their view of God based on what we do more than what we say. Thus, we need to do our best to express our faith through our actions as well as our words.

Each life is a series of opportunities to worship God through everything each one of us does. We can show our devotion to God even through mundane daily tasks. And then, when we least expect it, we will impact other people’s lives with our faith. That is a powerful way to witness God and worship Him through our lives.

Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31 NKJV)

26. Worship by Sharing Your Faith

If you are a believer, you have a lot to say about how good, gracious, merciful, and loving our God is. But don’t keep that information to yourself. You need to tell other people about Him.

So, let them know about who God is and what He has done for you and everybody else. First and foremost, let them know that God sent His own Son to die for our sins (John 3:16). Tell them about what you have read in the Bible and what you experienced yourself.

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;” (1 Peter 2:9 NKJV)

27. Worship Through Art

God gave artistic gifts to some of us. It is only natural that we use those gifts to praise and worship Him. Think about creative ways to express who God is, what He has done for you, your gratitude towards Him, etc.

Write poems and songs, draw, paint, sculpt, take photos of God’s creations. There are many ways to use and practice your talents inspired by the goodness of our Lord. Don’t forget to share the art you create so you will inspire other people too.

He has filled them with the skill to do all manner of work of the engraver and the designer and the tapestry maker, in the blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine linen, and of the weaver — those who do every work and those who design artistic works.” (Exodus 35:35 NKJV)

28. Worship with Humility

Worship implies a reverence and submission to God that is only possible with a humble heart. We need to realize who God is and who we are and admit our total dependence upon Him. The most important thing in our lives is the moment when we acknowledge how good, gracious, and merciful the Lord is, and we surrender our lives to Him.

When we humbly think about so many good things He has done for us, we realize that we are not worthy of any of it. The humbler we are, the deeper we can understand the goodness of God and His love for us. Those understandings bring us to our knees in our worship of God.

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” (James 4:10 KJV)

29. Worship with Joy

The book of Psalms has a lot to teach us about praise and worship. The psalmists invite us to join in with expressions such as “make a joyful noise” to the Lord (Psalm 95:1; 98:4,6; 100:1), with “shouts for joy” or “cries of joy” (Psalm 88:1). Those psalms tell us of such a great joy that one cannot be silent about it.

That’s the joy that comes from the Lord (Galatians 5:22). In good and hard times, we need to find our joy in Him. That’s how we can be joyful no matter the circumstances. So it is with our worship. It needs to be about Him, not about our situation or feelings. That’s how it can always be full of joy and gratitude for what God did for us.

Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.” (Philippians 4:4 KJV)

30. Worship with Reverence and Awe

The Lord gives us many reasons to praise Him and invites us to worship Him. But the freedom that He gives us doesn’t mean that we can relate to Him in any way we want. Our worship must reflect the utmost reverence for the Great King in the highest heaven.

Knowing who God is also bringing us a sense of awe. Can you fathom what it means to create the whole universe? Can you imagine what it is like to know every single molecule that ever existed and that will exist in all creation? It is way beyond our understanding. So, keep that in mind and bring that reverence and awe when you worship the Lord.

Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe,” (Hebrews 12:28)

Note

There is no way to fool God because the word says that he searches our hearts. So all these acts of worship to God will only be achieved when you have a correct heart, full of love and forgiveness. It is almost impossible for someone who has a heart full of bitterness and resentment to make this expression to worship God.

In Colossians 3:23 it says the following: And whatever you do, you must do it from the heart, as if it were for God our Lord.

Prayer of repentance and faith.

If you have not yet received Jesus into your heart, this is an excellent opportunity for you to do so and become a worshiper in spirit and truth. Repeat with me this prayer that will change your life forever and for the better:

Lord Jesus, forgive all my faults and sins, I ask you to come to my heart to reign, I receive you in my heart, as my only and sufficient savior, change my life and make me a new creature Amen!!

Conclusion: One of the reasons God created humans was so that we can worship him and praise his name. Compiled on this post are 30 Effective ways to worship God accordingly that will bring you closer to God the maker.
