The importance of missions lies in the objective we have as children of God in this world.

All of us who are in Christ have as our main purpose to expand the kingdom of the Lord and preach the word, bringing the message of salvation to every creature, as the Holy Scriptures demand: “And he said to them: Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15)

The importance of missions for the expansion of the Kingdom

The importance of missions for the expansion and proclamation of the Kingdom of Heaven lies in doing the perfect will of God. We are called to fulfill the purpose of the Lord in our lives and carry the message of salvation and be light in the midst of darkness.

Let us remember that Jesus came to look for that which was lost and which needed God’s mercy. For these actions, Jesus was harshly criticized, judged, humiliated, beaten, and finally sacrificed on Calvary’s Cross.

In this order of ideas, carrying out a Ministry implies a sacrifice, and many times one is not willing to pay the price because fear and doubts take over the person because we are human and although our kingdom is not of this world, we have to dwell here in a hostile environment full of evil. Therefore, it is a total challenge to carry out evangelism missions.

So the proclamation of the gospel of the Kingdom entails a great spiritual struggle against the world of darkness that has enslaved the minds and wills of many people.

For this reason, we are faced with a life and death battle, since the preaching of this good news of salvation will determine spiritual growth in this life, and lead to a final destiny in the life of each person who has the opportunity. to listen to the message and accept the Lord Jesus in your heart and thus achieve forgiveness, mercy, and salvation.

We are currently living in a world in which the person is immersed in selfishness and individuality and for this reason, they have disconnected from the need of the other, because they are focused on their own interests.

Certainly, this world is undermined by pleasures, comforts, recreational activities, and festive events, among others that provide the personal enjoyment of the person.

All these things have replaced the spiritual part of most people’s lives and it is very difficult to get another point of view understood, as not everyone understands the spiritual world and hearts have grown cold and disbelief has taken hold. an important place in the machinations of darkness.

But we must understand that our struggle is merely spiritual and that our main mission is to combat and destroy the enemy’s tricks, using the armor that the word of God offers us:

“Therefore, put on the whole armor of God, so that you can resist in the evil day, and having finished everything, stand firm. Stand firm, therefore, having your loins girded with truth, and clothed with the breastplate of righteousness, and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Above all, take the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the fiery darts of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying at all times with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and being vigilant to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints” (Ephesians 6:13-18)

In this sense, in order to overcome darkness, we must be founded on the rock, knowing the word in-depth and knowing that God’s promises are accurate and are fulfilled in the lives of the Lord’s children because he is fair to those who do his will and follow him.

For this reason, it is essential that the children of God be prepared to face the enemy, separating us from everything that separates us from his paths. For this it is necessary that our heart, mind, soul, and spirit be focused on our purpose, avoiding the darts of darkness.

The life of this earthly world is exposed to many distractions that prevent us from carrying the gospel in a disciplined way and assuming the mission of evangelizing according to what the word demands of us:

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted; to proclaim liberty to captives, and a sight to the blind; to set the oppressed free” (Luke 4:18)

One of the limitations we have is our mind, which suffers daily attacks from the enemy through what the world exposes us through what we see, hear and speak. But we have this word that demands us to preach, to perform miracles in the name of Jesus so that they know that the Glory of God is upon you because you are his son.

In this way, we have the beautiful promise of salvation and as servants of the Lord we must carry out the mission that souls are rescued from the abyss in which they find themselves, that they are freed from the bonds of the devil and can enter the kingdom of heaven. . For every soul saved, there is a reward, but the greatest reward is pleasing God.

Why is the proclamation of the gospel urgent?

It is of great urgency to carry out the proclamation of the message of salvation because we are in the last times and the second coming of Christ is near, and for this reason, we must be instruments of God to announce to all nations and to all creatures that the moment is drawing near and that is why time is getting short.

We cannot be like the virgins who went to buy the oil at the last moment, we have to seek the Lord at all times and try to fulfill his holy will established in his word.

In this way, we can point out two reasons why the missionary vision must be strengthened to rescue lost souls and do God’s work here on earth. Within these we find:

1. Rescue lost souls

Jesus came to this world with the purpose of saving what was lost, to heal the sick, to comfort the one who was troubled and downcast, he came to be free from the attacks of the evil one. That is why Jesus was always surrounded by those most in need, bringing the gospel of salvation, providing hope for a desolate and humiliated people, victims of so many injustices.

For this reason, as children of God we must follow the gospel of Christ and rescue what has been lost, look for that lost sheep that left the fold, as his word demands:

“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? And when he finds her, he puts her on her shoulders joyfully; and arriving home, he gathers his friends and neighbors, saying: Rejoice with me, because I have found my sheep that was lost. I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who do not need repentance” (Luke 15:4-7).

In this sense, the most important thing is to carry that message full of hope, truth, and love, sending them the gospel of the kingdom and showing the manifestations of the Holy Spirit through the works that we do in order to carry out the mission of evangelizing.

We must not lose the main focus, we must set aside our own interests and scrutinize the scriptures to know the truth and put it into practice, act according to our neighbor, feeling love and mercy for the needy.

In this sense, we must not allow our hearts to grow cold and the virus of unbelief to catch us and divert us from the right path. Our rock is Christ and only if we remain in him, our house will not be knocked down because in the face of a storm we will remain firm as the palm tree, as his word demands:

“The righteous will flourish like the palm tree; It will grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Planted in the house of the Lord, In the courts of our God, they will flourish. Even in old age, they will bear fruit; They will be vigorous and green” (Psalms 92: 12-14)

On the other hand, it is also important to emphasize the words of the apostle Paul: “How then can they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without a preacher?” (Romans 10:14)

In this passage, the apostle Paul highlights the importance of preaching the gospel to hungry souls to find the peace of God that only he can grant and that surpasses all our understanding.

2. Leave everything for Christ

Another aspect that must be considered to carry out the mission of proclaiming the gospel to every creature and in all nations, we must leave everything for him. This refers to the fact that our life must be directed by Christ so that everything we do is under the coverage of God.

Leaving everything for Christ means leaving carnal desires and old customs to lead a different life that serves as a testimony of what he can do in the life of each of his children. So our main mission is to serve God and bring the message of salvation to the souls that need to be saved.

In the same way, it is important to point out that as children of God we are the temple and dwelling place of the Holy Spirit, that is why we must lead a life according to his word and be light in the midst of darkness, revealing the fruit of his Spirit at all times, as as the bible demands:

CHECKOUT:

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, self-control; against such things, there is no law” (Galatians 5:22-23).

At present, the intention of the missions has been diverted and man has wanted to impose himself for his personal interests, where the preachers carry a different and distorted message of the purpose of Christ, where prosperity and abundance prevail as the main theme.

Therefore, we must pay attention to what Christ pointed out in his gospels, where he emphasizes love towards others as the second commandment. In this way, when we love our neighbor, we are loving God because God is love.

In this order of ideas, the importance of the missions lies in our purpose as children of God to expand the kingdom of heaven, not for our vainglory, but for the Glory of Our Lord Jesus Christ, who first demands love of God from us and then love for our neighbor, and it is because of this love that we have to advance in Christ and proclaim the good news to every creature because that is the example that Jesus gave us when he came to this world, where he taught us through his testimony.

The greatest teaching that Jesus left us was love towards our neighbor, towards those who are in great need, those who are lost and find no consolation in anything. That is why we must show him the way, the truth, and the life that is Christ, who through his light guides us through his paths of justice.

We must not forget where the Lord took us from when he chose us because certainly without him, we can do nothing and we must manifest it in our actions, doing good deeds to please him and to be able to enlarge his kingdom and glorify his name.

Recognizing his power and majesty and revealing the manifestations of this power through miracles, deliverances, prodigies, and healings, among other things. And we will show the world that we can do things even greater than what Jesus did just as he points out in his word: “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me, the works that I do, he will also do; and greater than these he will do, because I am going to the Father” (John 14:12).
