The story of creation: God created man and woman
In Genesis 1:27, the Bible says that God created humankind “male” and “female.” “Then God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female created he them.” The creation story does not end in Genesis chapter 1 but continues in chapter 2. There we read of God taking a rib out of the side of the Man, Adam, and forming the Woman, Eve.
After this, God tells them, “go and be fruitful until you fill the earth” after this, he gives them the power to rule over the animals. In addition, he tells them that they can eat from all the trees that are there except one, and we already know what happened next: the snake tempted them, and they agreed to disobey God.
What does man and woman mean?
To be sure, the Hebrew words for “man” (zākār) and “female” (nĕqēbâ) refer to humanity as a gendered binary, with subtle etymological reference to the sexual organs that distinguish males. of the females.
God’s Reason Behind Humanity’s Binary Creation
“Therefore a man will leave his father and mother and cling to his wife, and they will become one flesh.” (Gen 2:29) Of course, here we find the very verse that Jesus cites to substantiate his definition of marriage, thus reaffirming the timeless nature of this truth that God built into the warp and woof of creation (Mt 19:5; Mark 10:7).
In this way, marriage is God’s designed way of carrying out his other stated purpose behind his creation of binary humanity in the commission he gave in Genesis 1:28.
We can say that while the creation story in Genesis 1 may focus more explicitly on biological sex, the (continued) creation story in Genesis 2 clearly speaks of God’s creation of mankind in two, and thus, necessarily, binary, the complementary genders.
Because in Genesis 2, we read that God created mankind not just as “male” and “female,” but as “male” and “female” with related roles. He created them to keep each other company and help each other. We find that gender, masculinity, and femininity are actually ingrained: male and female; he created them, and there is no third sex.
This is why the male and female are (only) the type of couple that can reproduce (Genesis 1:28; 2:20). That is why homosexuality, a man lying with a man as with a woman (Lev. 18:22), is wrong.
This is why the apostle Paul can speak of homosexual associations as a deviation from natural relations or the natural function of sexual relations between men and women (Rom. 1: 26-27). In each case, the argument only works if equivalence is assumed between the biology of sexual difference and the corresponding identities of male and female.”
It is good news that God created mankind, male and female. We don’t have to suffer under the existential angst of self-definition.
It is God who defines us, and God has created and called us men and women.
Biblical perspective on homosexuality
God gives sex as an expression of love to be shared and enjoyed exclusively between a husband and wife. The Bible leaves no room for confusion or ambiguity when it comes to homosexual behavior.
The Scripture explicitly and implicitly considers it outside of God’s intention to create man and woman as sexual beings bearing his image and likeness.
“There is no room for hate, hurtful comments or other forms of rejection towards those who experience same-sex attraction or identify as gay, lesbian or bisexual.” To this, we would add the crucial observation that here, as in other parts of the Christian life, Christ’s example and command compels us to proclaim God’s truth.
Because humans are made in the image of God, Jesus teaches us to regard all humanity as priceless, including those who affirm or adopt labels or behaviors that we believe the Bible associates with sexual sin. The priority of love for the Christian is unquestioned, and the cause of love is advanced by telling the truth with grace and compassion.
As for “marriage” between people of the same sex, we see no place for it within the context of the word: God created man and woman, in his creation there were no half men, nor half women. He only defined male and female sex. He also says that male and female would unite in one flesh. He never spoke of a man with man or woman with woman.
Another fragment of the Bible tells us that homosexual behavior is an “abomination to Jehovah.” Apart from this, there is something very important to highlight: if God had wanted man and man to come together, he would have created another Adam and he would not have had to take out a rib for the creation of his companion.
The clarity of God’s truth on the issue of homosexuality remains unchanged despite hermeneutical methods designed to justify homosexual behavior. The Bible forbids all kinds of sexual promiscuity, both heterosexual and homosexual.

There are groups of people who want to spread this behavior to all corners, just to feel good or feel accepted, or more specifically, to psychologically get rid of the weight of that action that they already know is wrong. However, the Bible is very clear “male and female he created them” and there is no contradiction to that.
