All human beings, even the wealthiest, the strongest, or the most powerful, are exposed to situations from which it seems that only divine intervention can save us. here is a selection of prayers to ask for help in those times.
God is our Creator and for Him nothing is impossible.
Ecclesiastes 3 begins with an important lesson: “To everything, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1).
There will be seasons of life when we walk high among the mountains, and seasons when we crawl through the valleys. What remains constant through the good and bad times of life is God.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8).
Sometimes as believers, we tend to feel closer and more intimate with God during the low seasons. Peak-season distractions are absent and our need for God is quite clear. On the contrary, some of us feel closer to God during the good moments of life, but totally abandoned when we face suffering.
Whatever scenario it describes to us, the Bible encourages us to always pray, whether we are well or ill (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).
Praying always keeps us connected in our relationship with God. While this is the goal, sometimes moving from isolation to connection with God can seem impossible. However, this sentiment is not the truth. We can do all things through Christ (Philippians 4:13).
If you find yourself in a low place today, then the solution is to connect with God to remember his provision, protection, and love. Sometimes we need to pray, sometimes we need to read the scriptures. Whatever the case, God has help for when we need it most.
Here are Prayers to ask for help when you need it most
1. A healing prayer
Our heaven father,
We know you by many names and many titles. An example of this is that you are a healer. Lord, I want to pray for healing on behalf of myself and the community. Some people suffer from physical illnesses, while others suffer from mental disorders. Where you wish to heal us, I pray that you will bring it into our lives. Help us to act, eat, and behave in ways that help facilitate healing. I ask that you restore our bodies and minds and that with every miracle your name be glorified.
In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
2. A prayer of orientation
Father,
I want to pray for myself and others like me who are lost or confused. I want to pray for those who need guidance, for those of us who make important decisions. Who to marry Where to go to school? Whether or not we should become missionaries. I ask you to speak to us, through your word, to other believers. Reveal your will to us. Calm our confusion, even our despair.
Help us to see the path laid out and to walk in your name. Amen.
3. A prayer for restoration
Father,
I’ve been worried about how many things I’ve recently lost in my life. Relationships, money, stability. I want to ask why. I want to know why these problems can come to me when I try so desperately to live as you want. Help me to see beyond my own suffering. Remind me of your care, your provision, and your deliverance. God, despite what my heart says, you have not forsaken me. That is why I ask that when they are ready, that what has been taken from them be restored.
Amen.
4. A prayer for peace
Father,
This is a prayer for peace, a prayer that asks you to soothe my weary soul. Thoughts rack my brain. Anxiety shakes my heart. I live day to day in fear of what is and what is not. This is not how you have called me to live. That lifestyle does not honor you but instead minimizes what you mean to me. So I ask you to change me. Please change my perspective so that I can find that peace that you promise to those who trust in you.
Thank my Lord. Amen.
5. Prayer to apply for financial aid
Being without money generates anguish and frustration, especially when it comes to paying for urgent causes. Pray to God with the following words to help you in economic problems.
My merciful and protective God,
today I come before you alienated from all ambition and greed;
whoever’s the heart has been touched by money has a bad heart
and my devotion and my heart love is for You;
I am your humble servant and I do not ask you for ostentation or riches,
but do not forsake me in poverty and need;
let it not be said of me that I have lost myself in pity and ruin;
intercede with your infinite love and mercy on my fate
and awaken generosity and empathy in the hearts of others;
give me your hand so that I can get out of emergencies and needs;
because for you there is nothing impossible and you are my protector and savior
