God always keeps his covenants

We serve a covenant keeper who always keeps to his promises and this brings us to

God is a God of covenants. A pact is an agreement between two or more people and that obliges both parties to comply with a series of conditions. We have all made pacts with people throughout our lives and we know well that it is difficult to find committed and loyal people who meet the conditions established in those pacts.

What’s A Covenant?

A covenant is a chosen relationship or partnership in which two parties make binding promises to each other and work together to reach a common goal. They’re often accompanied by oaths, signs, and ceremonies. Covenants contain defined obligations and commitments but differ from a contract in that they are relational and personal. Think of a marriage. In love, a husband and wife choose to enter into a formal relationship binding themselves to one another in lifelong faithfulness and devotion. They then work as partners to reach a common goal, like building a career or raising children together. That’s a covenant.

God always keeps his covenants explanation

The most beautiful pact that we can celebrate is with God because only he fulfills what he promises. If we seek Him with all our hearts and try to follow His direction in every area of our life, He will reward us abundantly.

Only the Lord can promise that he will sustain us with the right hand of his justice from now on and forever and fulfill it with all its letters. Only Our Father can say that good and mercy will follow us all the days of our life if we only trust his Word. This is just to mention a few of the many promises in the bible.

What encourages many most in this walk with God is knowing that these promises will extend to all our generations. So today I want us to read Deuteronomy 7: 9 which says, “Recognize, therefore, that the Lord your God is truly God. He is a faithful God, who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and pours out his inexhaustible love on those who love him and obey his commands ”. New Living Translation Version.

To further exemplify what a covenant is and how it should be kept, I will tell you a biblical story that is one of my favorites. David, before being king, made a pact with Jonathan, son of King Saul, who was his best friend. This story is found in 1 Samuel chapter 18. These two men since they met loved each other as brothers and within this covenant, Jonathan asked David to have mercy on his descendants, without even imagining what would happen several years later.

Over the years and seeing all the feats that David did like the main warrior of King Saul’s army, the latter began to be very jealous of the young and brave warrior. It bothered him that everyone praised him and greeted them with such excitement.

This King also stopped listening to the voice of God that he received through the prophet Samuel. He was completely filled with hatred against David, he went mad and God turned away from Him. His anger against David was so great that he even persecuted him for several years to kill him.

When David was already a king in all his splendor and had already defeated so many nations, he asked if there were any descendants of King Saul left. Thus they brought Mephi-Boset, Jonathan’s son, who was crippled in both feet. Right in the battle in which King Saul and his son Jonathan, the nurse of little Mephi-Boset, were killed, she ran so fast to protect him while she was carrying him, that she dropped him and because of that accident he was left in this condition.

King David, whose heart was aligned with the heart of God, had mercy on this man. He returned the lands of his grandfather King Saul and also invited him to eat at his table every day of his life. Yes, he was invited to the King’s table! This part of the story is found in 2 Samuel chapter 9.

Despite the fact that this occurred at a time when the law was inflexible and all descendants of the fallen kingdoms were required to be killed, David made his love for Jonathan greater than the offenses he received from his father, the King. Saul.

That love was demonstrated by having mercy on the only descendant of Jonathan.

If David, who was a man like any of us, could fulfill his covenant, how much more will the God who gave his only son to die for our sins be.

Our Father takes us in his arms regardless of our condition and invites us to his table. Just like Mephibosheth who is crippled, we too are hurt or damaged in various areas of our life, but the Lord accepts us as we are and heals our wounds. It is God who invites us to eat at his table every day. He is a king and we are his children!

Mephibosheth always lived in Jerusalem because he ate daily at King David’s table.

I hope that you remain close to the Lord and always sit at his table.

Your place is always reserved and the Lord awaits you to delight you with the true delights of his kingdom.
