Life is full of up and downs, here are 5 Bible verses to help you endure and overcome difficult times.
No one likes troubled times and yet we cannot escape them. However, in our trials, we are not alone, the God of peace and all joy is at our side at all times.
He sees everything that is happening and He never ceases to support us. We do not always understand what happens, why it happens, but one thing we have the assurance: we are more than conquerors because of the One who loved us from the beginning. Do not despair, for you are a child of the Father of hope and do not give up, for you are heir to the God of perseverance.
When our whole little world is completely shaken up, we have two solid foundations left: God is GOOD and God is FAITHFUL.. He never lets us down and there is no problem that He does not already have a solution to.
So during these difficult times, hold on to His Word for it is powerful to strengthen us and lift us up.

5 Scriptures to endure and overcome difficult times
1. Psalm 126: 5-6 kjv
“They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.“
In our life there will be seasons for sowing and others for reaping. In other words, seasons of tests, of work, of challenges which will be followed by seasons in which we will reap the fruits of our hard work.
Nobody starts at the top of the mountain and if you believe that because of your little prayers God will save you from the difficulties of life, you are deceiving yourself: open your Bible!
Peter, Paul, Moses, Abraham and all the great people had their times of trials, but thereafter they also experienced great blessings, far beyond what they could imagine.
We will have to sow in our life, and times of sowing can sometimes be difficult, painful and very uncomfortable times, but without seed there is no harvest… The seed prepares the harvest and tears prepare joy.
So if you are crying today, you may be in a season of sowing: do not let go, continue, move forward, crying yes but move on, because at the end of the season will come the harvest and its cries of joy.
2. 1 Peter 5:10 kjv
“But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.”
Suffering is one of God’s tools to change our hearts and shape our character in His image and likeness.
We often pray “Lord change me!”, we deeply desire to be transformed and to resemble more and more our Jesus; but let us understand that the path which leads to the transformation of the heart is paved with intense pain, great humiliation and stressful trials.
On this road, God, little by little restores us according to His original idea, He will strengthen us by making us less subject to intimidation, fears and abandonment; He strengthens us by making us stronger, more resilient, more zealous Christians and He makes us steadfast! What does being steadfast mean? No matter what happens, I’m on my way.
Why are champions champions? Because they are unshakeable: they are not afraid of anything, they do not let anything stop them or question their cause and this is what God wants to make of us: champions.
This is why He needs to subject us to intensive training. So don’t give up along the way: all of this pain is giving birth to the champion God wants you to become.
3. Jeremiah 29:11 kjv
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
NS. A passage that fills us with peace and releases all the pressure. God knows what He’s doing, He’s already planned it all, no need to worry.
The purpose of His plan for your life is HAPPINESS . None of this will lead to misfortune! Today your situation seems hopeless, disastrous, your dream shattered and your hopes gone, but as hard as it is to believe, all of this will lead to HAPPINESS.
Misfortune is illegal in the Kingdom of God, and the Lord is an expert at making us happy. So if your plans fail, that’s okay, they had to fail in order for the Lord’s to be successful.
The sooner our own plans fall apart, the faster God’s plans are fulfilled.
He knows better than us what will make our HAPPINESS, what if we trusted Him for once?
Do you think you are in dire straits right now? Hang on because ahead, in the future, you will find oases of hope and lakes of prosperity.
4. James 5:11 kjv
“Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.”
Why did God give us a Bible? Among other things, so that we are constantly encouraged and reading the beginning and the end of the life of all these characters like Job.
Many started very badly but ended perfectly well! We already know the end of the story so why do we let the beginning take hold of us?
When we have already seen a film for the first time, the second viewing has no suspense, the plot is no longer intriguing, we no longer ask ourselves questions, we are no longer afraid for the main character… because we know how it’s gonna end! Ditto for our life: it is found in the pages of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation!
The story of Job tells of our life, as well as that of David, Elijah, Abraham, Esther, Rebecca, the prodigal son etc. What we are currently experiencing is the second viewing… we already know how it’s going to end: GOOD, very GOOD.
What the Lord has done for others, He desires to do the same for us.
So let’s keep an attitude of faith. Having faith doesn’t mean never crying, feeling no fear, or having any doubts, but rather not letting these negative emotions stop us from pursuing the best of God for our lives.
5. Isaiah 41:10
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. “
He is our God, He is your God. You belong to Him and He will constantly take care of you. He did not create us to see us miserable, He did not sacrifice His Son to let us perish, He did not forgive our sins to let us die far from Him. Quite the contrary.
You would be amazed how much God loves you and wants to bless you. Even though we do not always understand why He allows such and such a situation, we have the assurance that He will never forsake us. In difficult times, we have nothing to fear because He watches over us like a loving father watches over his children.
When worry wins us over, we can stay at peace: we are not on our own. He is a Father who assumes His offspring. He will make sure you don’t miss anything and more, He blesses you beyond all your expectations.
Conclusion:
Your best days are ahead and not behind, you haven’t seen anything God wants to do in your life yet.
But to see the happy ending, you have to go to the end of the film… So don’t stop watching in the middle, you risk missing out on the best of God!
