What is Patience
Patience is a platform for signs and wonders (2Cor. 12:12; Job 14:14)
If you want to walk in signs and wonders, you have to be patient; those that are not patient go to the devil for powers
In your faithfulness comes multiplication.
It takes patience to see the works and the wonders of God
1B. Patience is the vehicle for the completion of the race of life (Heb. 12:1)
Every race requires patience to be run; whatever you are going after it is patience that causes you to reach it
Pertinacity, tenacity, endurance.
Every destination on earth is reachable and every expectation is achievable if patience is available
Here are 30 prayers to help you get through times of difficulty.
1. Prayers of Patience: Give me Strength
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)
Today is hard, Lord. I haven’t even got out of bed yet. Too much is clouding my thoughts, too many things to face, and I can already sense the panic building inside. I have no patience with myself, or with anyone else, to make it through the morning and the day.
Would you like to meet me and give me yours? Would you pick me up and take me out of my bedroom? Would you be willing to walk me through the day? You never let me feel tired or depleted. You have the ability to restore my patience and strength.

2. Prayers for patience: Guide My Marriage
“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:2-3)
When it comes to my wife, Lord, I’m not humble, gentle, nor patient today. It’s not the big things, although they never seem to disappear. But it’s also the small things that accumulate and chip at my smile. It can be difficult to recall the times when it was easy and fun.
Today, walk between us. Peace to our hearts. We need to have an inexhaustible amount of patience when we try to understand each other. Bring us back to the times when being together was easy. It is a three-person relationship. Thank you for cheering my marriage on, not from the sidelines but from the middle.
3. Prayers of Patience: Help me Love Others
“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” (1 Peter 4:8)
Some of Your people can be difficult to love, Lord. They can be difficult to understand, moody, mean, and sometimes even rude. They make me feel guilty for doing things that I did not do, and they have unrealistic expectations. Sometimes, I wish You didn’t have them in my life.
Your love for them is what I need. Let me know what You see beneath the surface and where they are suffering. Then, tell me how I can make a difference. I am grateful for your patience in being kind and compassionate to me even when it’s not my fault. I also appreciate you loving me when it’s me who is struggling in someone’s life.

4. Prayers for patience: Guide My Steps
“I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done.” (Psalm 143:5)
My God, I miss the old days. It’s all my fault, I know. I don’t have the patience to sit at your feet and meditate upon your Word. I have been too eager to get your will. Instead of waiting for you to direct my steps, I have learned to make things happen now.
Recall the days when you were my greatest desire. You give me the patience to wait in your presence. Stop racing thoughts and imposing time limits. You are the only person who can stop me from living my life all by myself. I am grateful that you have shown me that putting me first is the best thing for me.
5. Prayers of patience: Please help me be patient with my children
“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.” (Psalm 127:3)
It’s hard to believe, but sometimes my children feel the opposite of a reward. “iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens the other” ( Proverbs 27.17), Today might be the day that I’m whittled away. I am currently hiding in the toilet, trying to control my frustration.
Your peace will drown out my anger and give me everlasting patience. Let me love and care for my children the same way that you do. I am grateful for their kindness and love.
6. Prayers of Patience: Help me through the Crises
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)
Lord, I cannot move. I cannot stand or sit stihttps://www.crosswalk.com/faith/prayer/ll. I can’t even breathe. I feel like I’m going to die. Everything is falling apart around me and within me. I don’t know where to turn.
Wrap your arms around my neck and never let go. My racing heart slows down. Clear my spinning head. Calm my frantic lungs. I need Your patience to get through this moment and move on to the next. I am grateful to You for being a God in the present, a God who cares, and a God that can guard my heart, mind, and soul.
7. Prayers For Patience: Take Away my Pride
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” (1 Corinthians 13:4-5)
It’s hard to believe, but it is true. I know that if I continue to explain my position with one more example, the other person is likely to see my side. My relationships are destroyed when I push my views too hard.
Remind me that relationships matter more than who is right or wrong. When I cannot seem to stop my pride, tell me to be gentle. Your patience will soothe my anger. You have helped me to see the bigger picture and show me what really doesn’t matter. You are so kind to me even though I believe I know everything, but you know that I don’t.
8. Prayers for patience: Teach me to let go
“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)
My God, I am stuck in a place that I don’t want. Everyone else seems to be moving at a rapid pace. Sometimes it’s hard to see. Imagine if your life looks and feels the same way. These things must change. I have to move on. I need to find something else right now.
This is not your way. You want me to grow, even if I want to run away. My anxiety. My despair is gone. Stretch my perseverance. You know what is best for me. I am grateful that you helped me to let go, and that you gave me the patience to wait for your time.
9. Prayers of Patience: Teach me to Slow Down
“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:29-30)
It doesn’t really matter how old I get, adulting can be hard. Someone should have told me that the most important part of being a grown-up was learning as you go. There wasn’t a magic formula that could be imprinted in my brain. My family, financial, and future responsibilities continue to mount. It never ends.
I need your patience to deal with the small and big things. Slow down. Teach me to be calm. I don’t want my life to be blurred, exhausted, or weighed down. I am grateful for your help and that you don’t force me to live my life alone.
10. Prayers of Patience: Teach me to be like You
“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” (1 Corinthians 12:27)
I am human, which often leads me to be oblivious to what is happening around me. I am so focused on my own tasks that I don’t stop noticing the world around me.
Remind me to not get too distracted or caught up in my own thoughts. Remind me that my family and friends need me, just as I need them. We are not meant to live life alone. Thank you for showing us how to be Jesus together. Thank you for helping me shine for you.
