Who is the true God according to the Bible is a doubt that those believers who are studious and scrutinize the Holy Scriptures to know the essence of this divine being may have.

That is why this study will show those qualities that show the magnificence of the God of Israel, who shows in the Holy Scriptures the power that comes from Him, and which is currently tangible for all believers.

Who is the true God according to the Bible?

The human being is aware of all the works of God, of miracles, healings, and his mercies, so many studies the stories of the Bible to continue knowing it and being able to be inspired every day, knowing its essence, being called for all believers know who God is.

Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, nor the mighty man in his power, nor the rich man in his wealth. If anyone should boast that he boasted of knowing me and understanding that I am the Lord, who act on earth with love, with right and justice, it is what pleases me ”(Jeremiah 9: 23-24)

In this sense, any believer in God will seek on a daily basis to know the essence of this supreme being, who fills him with wisdom, health, well-being, prosperity, and love, so it is essential to know those qualities that make him consider himself the true God.

Through this situation, there are diversities of moments where the power of the Almighty God who defended the people of Israel is shown, and that is seen with the experience of the prophet Elijah, who on Mount Carmel challenged all the prophets of Baal and demonstrated the power of that God who had called him.

“When the time came for the burnt offering to be offered, the prophet Elijah approached and said: Jehovah God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be revealed today that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that by command yours I have done all these things. Answer me, Jehovah, answer me, so that this people may know that you,

O Jehovah, you are the God, and that you return their hearts to you. Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt offering, the wood, the stones, and the dust, and even licked up the water that was in the trench. When all the people saw it, they fell down and said: Jehovah is God, Jehovah is God! ” (1 Kings 18: 36-39)

That evidence of the power of God was known to the prophet Elijah, who was able to understand that his daily search and intimacy helped him to have that conviction and faith, to the point of living one of the most extraordinary moments of the manifestation of the power of Almighty God.

When it refers to his omnipotence it indicates that He is Almighty since with Him there is nothing impossible, He has the power and can do whatever he wants and pleases because in his will he has dominion over everything.

God is Omnipresent

This means that God is present in all parts of the world, and he sees everything because his presence completely covers the whole earth.

Where can I go from your Spirit? And where will I flee from your presence? If I go up to heaven, you are there; And if I make my footstool in Sheol, behold, there you are. If I take the wings of the dawn And dwell at the end of the sea, Even there your hand will guide me,

And your right hand will hold me. If I say: Surely the darkness will cover me; Even the night will shine around me. Even the darkness does not hide from you, And the night shines like the day; Darkness is the same to you as light. ” (Psalm 139: 7-13)

God is Omniscient

This means that God knows everything, He knows everything, and is able to scrutinize the depths of people, regardless of whether it may be in the past, present, or future since he knows the depths of the heart of man. , knowing the thoughts.

“You have known my sitting down and my getting up; You have understood my thoughts from afar. You have searched my walk and my rest, And all my ways are known to you. For the word is not yet on my tongue, And behold, O Lord, you know it all “(Psalm 139: 2-4)

God is love

This quality of God is one of the most profound, since He has the ability to love selflessly, and show that eternal love to humanity.

He who does not love has not known God; because God is love. ” (1 John 4: 8)

God is merciful

This characteristic of God is the one that is evidenced on a daily basis in the lives of all people since He feels compassion for all creation,  whom He forgives on a daily basis.

“For you, Lord, are good and forgiving, and great in mercy to all who call on you” (Psalm 86: 5)

God is inscrutable

This is one of the greatest characteristics of God since He is not just anyone we can describe, define or know, since there is a lot of depth in His essence.

“Oh depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! !How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!” (Romans 11:33)

God is holy

This characteristic of God evidences his purity, in him, there is no moral corruption or of any other kind, in him, there is no uncleanness or sin.

“Therefore you are to be holy to Me, because I, the LORD, am holy, and I have separated you from the peoples that you may be mine” (Leviticus 20:26)

God is Unique

This means that God is the only true one with power, there is no other than Him, all the other idols that man can invent are false, being the creation of the human mind, so they cannot be compared to the God of Gods.

“And this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent” (John 17: 3)

God is Spirit

The life of every believer should be directed to stay in the spiritual dimension, which is the nature of God. Leaving aside the carnal and human dimension where you cannot see, and be able to perceive that invisible being that is the true God.

Nobody ever saw God; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has made him known ”(John 1:18)

God is immutable

This characteristic refers to the fact that God does not change and cannot vary because unlike human beings God does provide the security of always being the same.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift comes down from on high, from the Father of lights, in whom there is no change, nor shadow of variation” (James 1:17)

God is Incomparable

This characteristic refers to the fact that the human being does not have the capacity to understand God, since there is nothing that can equal him or with which he can be compared.

“With whom can we compare God? What image can you find that looks like it? Can it be compared to an idol formed in a mold, covered with gold and decorated with silver chains? ” (Isaiah 40:18)

God is Eternal

God remains alive, he does not expire, he does not have the possibility to vary, he is eternal, he has no beginning or end.

“Therefore, to the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, to the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen ”(1 Timothy 1:17)

God is fair

This characteristic refers to the fact that God seeks to give every one what is due, He gives the reward in a fair way according to the actions that people do.

“He is the Rock, whose work is perfect, For all his ways are upright; God of truth, and without any iniquity in him; He is just and upright ”(Deuteronomy 32: 4)

Finally, it can be said that the true God is the one who shows the Holy Scriptures, the one who remains in time seeking to manifest himself to all his creation, and with his works, miracles, feats, reflects that supernatural power that characterizes him.
