    How Old Is God

What does God look like physically?

What does God look like physically? This is undoubtedly a question that we have all asked ourselves at least once in our life. And if you have never asked yourself this question, it is undoubtedly because in your imagination you have already made yourself a physical representation of God.

What does God look like physically?

Trying to guess,  I believe this representation of God looks like a tall old man with a long white beard, long hair, a thick castling voice wearing a long white robe and sandals. How do I know this?

No doubt, because I also imagined Him that way and I believe this is because of the many cartoons and comics that we had to read and watch during our childhood. Being beings made of flesh and blood, we tend to make a physical representation of everything we recognize as real.

We do it not only with God but also when we read a novel when a story is told to us and we have no doubt made some representation of a large number of biblical characters in our mind.

In short, man does not like the unknown. This is why those who called themselves atheists were able to admit that God did not exist simply because their eyes had never seen him.

However, the answer to this mysterious question may be found in the Bible. Does the Bible give a physical description of God? However, two Bible verses can discourage us:

    John 1.18 (KJV):
“No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, is the One who made Him known. “

    1 John 4:12 (KJV):
“No man has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfect in us. “

These two verses reassure us that no one has ever seen God! That is to say that no one can therefore represent Him physically. But what we do know about the Word of God is that it was written by men but was inspired by the Spirit of God. Where would I come from?

What I mean is no one can physically represent God but God can describe Himself and say what He looks like. One of the information that the Bible gives us about God is found in John 4:24 (KJV): “God is Spirit…”.

A Spirit is an incorporeal substance, which has no body so that we can neither touch nor see with our physical eyes and this is confirmed to us in:

    1 Timothy 1.17 (KJV):
“ To the King forever, immortal, invisible, only God, be honor and glory forever and ever! Amen! “

    Colossians 1:15 (KJV):
“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. “

The repeated word in these two Bible verses is the word “invisible”. An invisible being is a being that cannot be seen and that escapes sight by its nature but it can also signify figuratively what cannot be seen, which is hiding, or which cannot be found. Despite this, John 1:18 (KJV) clarifies an important detail: “… the only Begotten, who is in the bosom of the Father, is he who made him known. “

This verse simply wants to tell us that Jesus Christ has revealed to us who God really is so that He will no longer be a stranger to us. Jesus gave us an idea of what God is like and He revealed to us the true character of God. How did he do it?

John 14: 7-9 (KJV) gives us the answer: “If you knew Me, you would also know My Father. And right now you know Him, and you’ve seen Him. Philip said to Him: Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us. Jesus said to him: I have been with you so long, and you did not know Me, Philip! He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how do you say: Show us the Father? ”

The more you know someone, the better you can get a clear picture of them, you may not see someone physically but still know them. Just like you can see someone physically without knowing them. What would you prefer Seeing without knowing or knowing without seeing? What if I can answer this question in a fairly simple way: What does God look like physically?

The most plausible answer would be to say: God physically resembles Jesus Christ, since Colossians 2: 9 (KJV) tells us of Christ:  “… in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily”. So by seeing Christ we see God. He has not only made it known to us, but we see the Father in Him. By faith in Jesus Christ, our priority is no longer to see Him physically but to believe in Him, to love Him, and to rejoice in Him.

    1 Peter 1. 8 (KJV) :
“Him whom you love without having seen Him, in whom you believe without seeing Him yet, rejoicing with an ineffable and glorious joy. “

I would like to end this article by exhorting you to meditate carefully on the scriptures and especially the gospels, God will become your usual companion and you will get to know Him better and better; thus you will not seek to know what He looks like but you will keep this hope in your heart that one day you will see Him.

    May God bless you abundantly!
