One of the most important things that a child of God must have is to be able to develop a faith that is authentic and genuine.
This will allow you to immerse yourself in the presence of Heavenly Father and to be able to recognize Him in all areas, recognizing that He is real and is your guide in life.
In this sense, God must be known not as that distant deity but as that Father who is close
It will also help you to know each one of the intentions they have for what they approach Him because each one of the things that the Lord wants to give to his children is for good.
“For I know the thoughts that I think about you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you the end you hope for.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
In this sense, it is faith that can be strengthened, in the same way as Job did, who despite the harsh circumstances that he had to live never doubted in God.
Rather, he adored and praised the Heavenly Father, in the midst of the situation he was experiencing demonstrating his dependence on Him.
Heroes of the Faith
All this is given according to searching the Holy Scriptures and having that capacity that these Heroes of the faith had that is found in the book of Hebrews 11.
That demonstrates how these women and men were able to experience the sovereignty of God in their lives, managing to reach a closeness and knowledge of the Heavenly Father, who helped them to consolidate their faith in Him.
That is why by reviewing each of these examples the believer will be able to connect to that source of faith every day.
And thus achieve through prayer and exhaustive study of the word of God the knowledge of the Heavenly Father, whom they will genuinely worship, and the Holy Spirit.
This will be able to reveal all things to you and activate the spiritual gifts, and thus walk firmly in faith.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1)
How to develop faith in God
One of the things that characterize the human being is his self-sufficiency, since having talents, attitudes, and knowledge about some area.
They assume that everything they have comes from them and not by the will of God, it is for this reason that faith in the Almighty is lost.
All this is due to the fact that their mind is darkened and as a result of the ego that moves in them, they move away from the Almighty
“But without faith, it is impossible to please God; because it is necessary that
Let him who comes to God believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him” (Hebrews 11:6).
authentic faith
God asks that all believers have authentic faith, but today there are many struggles that prevent people from having that trust in God.
That is why one must scrutinize the Holy Scriptures and know each one of these examples of women and men who walked according to the call of the Lord.
They never denied their faith, but every day in the midst of circumstances they could be strengthened by God since they placed all their trust in Him.
And in that study that people begin, they will be able to understand the truth through the Holy Spirit.
In this way, they will be able to overcome each of the circumstances that may arise in their life from the family aspect, such as business, couple, health, finances, and maintain a firm faith.
Men and Women of Faith
In the Bible there are a variety of men and women, who without any type of variation could be approved in their faith, as the following characters did:
1. Noah built the Ark
Noah is the character known as the noble and pious patriarch, he was chosen by God when the earth was overflowing with sin and the abomination of the men who were on earth.
God commissioned this man to make an ark to safeguard the future of the human race.
God spoke to Noah and gave him specific instructions so that the ark could float on the overflowing waters in a way never seen before.
God spoke to Noah
(Genesis 6:13-22) God, therefore, said to Noah: I have decided the end of all beings because the earth is full of violence because of them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make yourself an ark of gopher wood; you will make rooms in the ark, and you shall caulk it with pitch inside and out…And behold, I will bring a deluge of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which there is the spirit of life under heaven; everything on earth will die.
But I will establish my covenant with you, and you and your sons and your wife and your sons’ wives will enter the ark with you.”
Noah did not hesitate despite the teasing
Noah walked in faith in the midst of the ridicule of all the people around him, who did not believe that what he was announcing would happen.
In this way, when the flood came, only he and his wife, their three children, and their wives could enter.
Thus managing to save his life and that of his loved ones, for his obedience to the mandate given to him by the Heavenly Father. (Genesis 9:13-15)
2. Abraham the Father of Faith
The first one who showed great faith in God was Abraham when he heard his voice, and he told him to leave his homeland.
Because it would show him land where he would be prosperous in all things, he did not doubt but walked according to the order given by God.
God spoke to Abraham
(Genesis 12:1-5) “But the Lord had said to Abram: Get out of your country and from your relatives, and from your father’s house to the land that I will show you.
And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you,
and those who curse you I will curse, and all the families of the earth will be blessed in you. And Abram went, as the Lord had told him.”
Abraham experienced another hard moment in which he demonstrated his total obedience to God when he asked him to sacrifice Isaac, the son of promise.
Abraham did not stop and act according to what the Father asked of him until the same angel of the Lord stopped him because he had shown total fidelity towards God, by obeying him without hesitation. (Genesis 22:3-4, 9-12)
In this way, it is seen how the obedience and faith that Abraham had was absolute since he had the approval and blessings throughout his life.
3. Hannah the mother of Samuel
A woman who had a lot of faith was Ana, who in the middle of a prayer cried out to God for a son, since she was barren and in the temple the priest was still watching her from afar and thought she was drunk.
She made a prayer with absolute faith, which evidenced the great desire to have a child, to the point that she made a pact with God, and offered it to Him, and to his work if she saw the request of her heart fulfilled.
Anne’s Prayer
(1 Samuel 1:10-11) “She with the bitterness of soul prayed to the Lord and wept abundantly. She and she made a vow, saying:
Lord of hosts, if you will deign to look at the affliction of your servant, and remember me, and do not forget your servant,
But if you give your maidservant a male child, I will dedicate him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor will pass over his head.”
This prayer produced a supernatural effect in Ana’s life since it allowed the fulfillment of her request by having absolute faith in God.
By having her son, she fulfilled the promise made to God, and her son became the first Prophet of God, named Samuel.
4. Elijah the Prophet
In the Bible, the story of Elijah is shown as the prophet most used by God in ancient times, and that was worth his faith.
This is because he was able to prophesy the drought of an entire town and be fed by ravens and widows, who preceded him in living one of the greatest challenges of faith that the Holy Scriptures narrate.
At that time there was a woman named Jezebel, who perverted the people into the worship of false gods, and had these false prophets under her orders.
In addition to persecuting and murdering all the prophets of Jehovah, so Elijah faced all those false prophets on Mount Horeb, showing the power of God through his absolute faith.
His faith brought down fire from heaven
(1st Kings 18:25-40) Then Elijah said to the prophets of Baal: Choose an ox for you, and prepare it yourselves first since you are the most; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under it. And they took the ox that was given them and prepared it, and they called on the name of Baal from morning until noon, saying: Baal, answer us! But there was no voice
…Then Elijah said to all the people: Come closer to me. And all the people came to him; and he repaired the altar of Jehovah that was ruined…
he built with the stones an altar in the name of Jehovah; then he made a trench around the altar, in which two measures of grain would fit… When the time came to offer the burnt offering, the prophet Elijah approached and said:
Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that at your command I have done all these things.
Answer me, Jehovah, answer me, so that this people may know that you, O Jehovah, are God, and that you turn their hearts to you.
Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt offering, the wood, the stones, and the dust, and even licked up the water that was in the ditch” (1st Kings 18:25-40).
an authentic faith
Elijah had an authentic faith, that is why he produced the answer of God, who lit an altar full of water with fire.
He did all this in front of the people, who could be spectators of the demonstration of the power of God, before those false gods.
5. Job never doubted God
Another man who had the courage and a lot of faith was Job, who after having lost everything in his life, stood up in the midst of the pain and disease that covered his skin.
Job worshiped in the midst of pain
(Job 1:20-22) “Then Job got up, and tore his robe, and shaved his head, and fell to the ground and worshiped, and said: Naked I came out of my mother’s womb and naked I will return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; be the name of Jehovah blessed. In all this Job did not sin, nor did he attribute any nonsense to God.
In the midst of this process that Job experienced, he remained whole, rejecting each of the suggestions that his wife made to tarnish the name of God.
Faced with this situation, Job flatly refused, keeping his integrity firm. (Job 2:9:10)
Faced with this difficult situation, Job demonstrated authentic faith, since he did not sin against God.
At the end of such a hard process, he was able to receive greater blessings, and his last condition was greater than the first. (Job 42:5-7)
6. The Woman of the Flow of Blood
The Bible shows the story of a woman who, in the midst of her illness, acted in faith. When she found out that Jesus would pass through her town, she thought with conviction:
If she will touch the mantle of Jesus, she could be healed.
This woman was prepared for it, and her faith was so great that she looked for a way to get closer to Jesus.
And in the midst of the crowd, he approached and managed to receive the power of healing that he obtained by touching the mantle.
The woman touched the cloak
“And behold, a woman sick with an issue of blood for twelve years,
he came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak; because she said within herself: If I only touch her cloak, I will be saved.
But Jesus, turning and looking at her, said: Have courage, daughter; your faith has saved you. And the woman was saved from that hour” (Matthew 9:19-22)
This shows that this woman with conviction approached Jesus in order to receive the miracle, she had faith that just by touching Jesus’ cloak her discomfort would go away.
The faith of this woman activated the miracle of healing, and not only that but also caused the attention of Jesus when he realized what was there and told him your faith has healed you (Mark 5:34)
This event is the example of a woman who believed with genuine faith, in such a way that it produced the desire of her heart, pleasing the Lord.
Each of these examples demonstrates how their conviction before God allowed them to overcome each of the adversities.
And they were able to obtain that reward that God could give them, being a great example for all believers today.
This is because, in the same way, that God was with them in ancient times, He will be with them now.
How to know if I have faith in God or if it is custom
One of the things a believer needs to understand is that to have authentic faith, you don’t necessarily have to do:
- Recite a biblical text.
- serve in the church.
- Make donations to the poor.
All this can be a routine that has developed over time, being tradition.
The fact that a person performs good works or is a believer in God, does this represent an authentic Faith? this needs to be analyzed.
Because if there is a conviction that God is real or is it simply a habit or routine doing it out of innate love for God.
In this sense, it must be said that true faith is not tested when all things are well.
But when a difficulty approaches through an illness or the death of a family member due to economic problems.
These are some of the examples that can shake a person’s faith
It is for this reason that when adversity arrives, many stop attending church or seek to resolve these situations with their own strength.
And seeing that they are not resolved, you can feel resentment towards God, discouraging you from seeking his presence, bringing the complaint into your life, because you do not accept the will of the Heavenly Father.
Have a lifestyle of Faith
According to this, it can be said that believing in God goes beyond serving in the church or helping the needy.
It is having a lifestyle seeking him at all times, accepting his will and that his trust is placed in his hands, and that any circumstance will not separate them from him.
But ask with faith, not doubting anything; because he who doubts is like the wave of the sea, that is carried by the wind and tossed from one place to another” (James 1:6).
In this way, when doubt comes into a person’s life, it will weaken their faith and cause their spiritual life to diminish in their search for the Lord.
Those promises will be stopping because he will turn his back on God and what He wants is that everyone can receive his blessings without hesitation.
Forge Faith in God
All believers have to forge their faith in God by seeking him with conviction.
And recognizing that Jesus died on a cross to bring victory after victory in every area of people’s lives, and that will allow you to sustain that conviction that God is real.
“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world, our faith” (1 John 5:4)
In that sense, what the Holy Scriptures say means that true faith is in having the ability to maintain and preserve a whole heart.
Be a worshiper of God and allow yourself to be guided by Him in any circumstance and environment.
“For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed by faith and for faith, as it is written: But the just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:17)
It is for this reason that every believer must be able to understand the will of God.
And that will be achieved by allowing Him to be your guide, regardless of the circumstances you are experiencing, it is being able to walk with God holding his hand.
You also, putting all diligence for this very thing, add virtue to your faith; to virtue, knowledge; to knowledge, own domain; to self-control, patience; to patience, mercy; to piety, brotherly affection; and to brotherly kindness, love” (2nd Peter 1:5-7).
In this way, it can be concluded by saying that the Holy Scriptures teach that there were many men who experienced difficulties.
But of all of them they could be strengthened in God, and it is for this reason that despite the circumstance that you may be going through, it is not time for you to abandon but for you to approach God, understanding that his will is always good, pleasant and perfect.
