The book of Isaiah was written many years before the arrival of Jesus, and the prophet Isaiah describes what Jesus would suffer on the cross, in order to bring salvation to humanity.
Meaning of Isaiah 53:5 By his stripes, we are healed
“By his stripes, we are healed” is a phrase found in the book of Isaiah 53:5 said by this prophet, who with indisputable conviction speaks about the future of the Messiah of Israel.

“Despised and rejected among men, a man of sorrows, experienced in grief; and as we hid our faces from him, he was despised, and we did not esteem him. Surely he bore our sicknesses, and suffered our pains; and we considered him scourged, wounded by God, and dejected. But he was wounded for our rebellions, crushed for our sins; the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and by his stripes, we are healed” (Isaiah 53:3-5)
Isaiah describes in detail the moment that Jesus would live on earth in order to bring spiritual and physical healing to all those people who believe in Him.
Enter the holy of holies

Healed from the death of Sin
This passage written by the apostle Peter emphasizes that all have been healed from the death of sin.

The wounds of Jesus

And they cried out again: Crucify him! Pilate said to them: Well, what evil has he done? But they shouted even more: crucify him! And Pilate, wanting to satisfy the people, released Barabbas for them, and handed over Jesus, after flogging him, so that he might be crucified (Matthew 15: 13-15)
The lashes
Roman floggings are known to have been terribly brutal, consisting of thirty-nine lashes.
And that was done with braided leather strips with interwoven metal balls, which when used caused great pain.
They were blows so strong that they caused bruises and contusions, each time they tore his skin more and more because of the sharp bones that had these metal balls, which were interwoven in the leather of these whips.
The pain that Jesus suffered
The pain produced completely tore the spine, which was exposed due to the deep cuts produced by these blows.
These lashes went from the shoulders, which passed through the back to reach the legs.
It is known that the flogging continued with lacerations that ripped into the muscles.
This produced trembling shreds in the bleeding flesh, thus the victims’ veins were exposed and even the very muscles and entrails were left open and exposed.
Jesus endured the pain
“Despite all this, he carried our illnesses and bore our pains. We thought that God had hurt and humiliated him. But he was wounded for our rebellions, he was beaten for our wickedness; he suffered in our place, and thanks to his wounds we received peace and were healed” (Isaiah 53:4-5)
This means that it was not God who hurt and humiliated him, but it was all human beings who, due to their rebellions and wickedness, made Jesus suffer this physical pain, in order to offer healing and peace.
The Wounds of Jesus produce healing for humanity
The sacrifice of Jesus is to give eternal victory and victory on earth to all who come close to Him.
That means there is spiritual victory, emotional victory, and also the physical victory.
The sacrifice on the cross of Jesus was so that humanity does not suffer pain or illness.
Jesus did it so that the pain and sacrifice he suffered from the whipping of his back be fulfilled in each person and be completely healthy.
“But all this happens so that the scriptures of the prophets may be fulfilled” (Matthew 26:54)
God’s promises
Through those wounds, Jesus came to fulfill all Scripture, and everything said by the prophets who prophesied about Jesus, who paid for pain and sickness
In this way, the emotional or physical pains and illnesses have been healed by Jesus, who suffered the pains and illnesses so that he lives healthy.
Likewise, Jesus teaches that it is through faith that one can have the promises that are written in the Holy Scriptures.
And that they were written by the prophet Isaiah and the apostle Peter, who assert that through sacrifice on the cross people can have healing, both spiritual and physical.
Healing given by Jesus
Jesus asked the father: – How long has this been happening to him? He said: – Since I was a child.
And many times he throws it into the fire or into the water, to kill it; but if you can do something, have mercy on us and help us.
Jesus said to him: – If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.
Immediately the boy’s father cried out and said: – I believe; Help my disbelief. When Jesus saw the crowd gathering, He rebuked the impure spirit, saying: – Dumb and deaf spirit, I command you to come out of him and enter no more into him.
Then the spirit, crying out and shaking him violently, came out; and he remained as dead so that many said: “He is dead” But Jesus, taking him by the hand, straightened him up; and he arose (Mark 9:21-27)
Note something here, the young man’s father asks Jesus to help him in his unbelief, to which Jesus replies full of faith, teaching him who believes, that everything is possible.
And Jesus commanded the demon to come out of the boy and he was healed. This means that faith makes nothing impossible and everything possible.
In this way, it can be said that the product of faith will make that sentence come true, which is why Jesus told them:
“If you have faith like mustard, nothing will be impossible, so if you can believe everything is possible”
To conclude, it can be said that faith, when united by the prayer for healing, will be able to move the hand of Jesus to receive his miracle of healing, and thus make it known that
