“By faith [Moses] left Egypt without being afraid of the king’s anger, for he stood firm as if he were seeing the Unseen One.” Hebrews 11:27 (NIV)

The first resolution: Choose to be who God wants you to be. The second resolution: Choose short-term pain for long-term benefits. The third resolution: Choose God’s values, not the world’s.

And the fourth resolution that Moses made: He chose to live by faith rather than fear. You too will face the same choice: Either you will live by faith or you will live by fear.

The Bible says of Moses in Hebrews 11:27,

“By faith [Moses] left Egypt without being afraid of the king’s wrath, for he stood firm as if he were seeing the Unseen One” (NIV).

Moses went to the most powerful man in the world and said, “You know I’m taking all those slaves who are building your pyramids, we are all leaving. You will no longer have slavery. Let my people go ”.

Moses had every reason to be afraid. He was rising up against the most powerful man on the planet at the time. Pharaoh was considered god at that time, and you had to do whatever Pharaoh said. What he said was the law. And Moses comes along and says, “We’re not going to do what you say anymore. I am not afraid of you because I am accountable to a higher authority ”. It takes some guts to do that!

Do you want that same kind of faith in your life so that you can overcome your fears? The closer you get to God, the more you will be filled with faith. The further you get away from God, the more you will be filled with fear.

I cannot overemphasize the importance of faith for the rest of your life. The Bible says that what does not come from faith is sin. How many times have you sinned this week? Many. I also. Because everything that I did without faith and was done with doubts is sin. The Bible also says that without faith it is impossible to please God. How many times did you please God this week?

Do you want something to change in your life? Stop complaining and start believing. God is not moved by complaints. God moves by faith: “Let it be done to you according to your faith” (Matthew 9:29). You can choose what He does in your life.

Here’s the key: What matters is not the size of your faith but the size of the God in whom you put it. A little faith in a great God goes a long way!

Spiritual Meaning of Prayer

Choose Faith Not Fear

“What kind of man is this, that even the winds and waves obey him?”
Matthew 8:27

Imagine the disciples going out with Jesus in a boat when a storm breaks. They are not prepared to face it and, terrified, they realize that they may die. While all this is happening, Jesus is sleeping peacefully.

Rather than waiting for Jesus’ reaction to this situation, the disciples allowed their situation to dictate their reactions.

After begging Jesus to do something, He calms the storm… But not before asking them: “Why are you afraid?”

Their gentle rebuke for their lack of faith was not because they did not believe that Jesus could save them from the storm, but because they struggled to believe that He could see them through it.

When faced with storms that we cannot control, how do we respond in faith? Here are three truths to remember:

God has power over every storm.

If the wind and waves don’t matter to God, then they shouldn’t scare you. You may not be able to change your situation, but you can choose to faithfully trust God in the midst of it.

Fixing your eyes on Jesus leads to peace.

Do you look at the size of the storm or do you turn your gaze to the One who can calm it? It is only by focusing on God, who knows every outcome, that you can navigate any situation with His wisdom and peace.

Jesus is always in your boat.

It’s easy to focus on your fears because you can’t control your future. But fortunately, Jesus does know your future and is always by your side. And it calls you to live by faith, not by sight.

When you find yourself overwhelmed by life, you always have two options: you can either focus on the circumstances or fix your eyes on Jesus.

Conclusion:
If you choose to look at Jesus above all else, you will begin to see that the storms you face are not as powerful as the Savior who chooses to walk through the storm by your side.
