How To Have Victory In Christ Explanation

Spread the love

Do you want to know how to have victory in Christ in your daily life? Many times believers are at the mercy of sin, sin in the life of a Christian has three dire consequences which are:

  • Dishonor the name of the Lord Jesus: If you are a believer, you must demonstrate with fact that you have the Lord Jesus in your life. When you succumb to sin, you dishonor his name.
  • Sin takes away power and joy: As long as you are flirting with sin, God will not look kindly on you and will stop using you.
  • It puts you in a bad testimony: Others do not judge your testimony so much by what you do and what you say. You should try to save your testimony to show that you are in Christ.

At this moment, throughout your life, you say to others: “The Christian life, it works! “Or” The Christian life doesn’t work! “The way you live as a Christian affects not only your life but also the lives of others. Do you see why being a victorious Christian is so important to you?

What is victory in Christ?

When we speak of  “victorious life”  we are not speaking of life without temptations or without sin. It is impossible to have a relationship with God that allows us to say  “I have no sin”  or  ” I can no longer sin” The Bible says:

  • 1 John 1.8: if we declare that we have not sinned, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us

So, we can ask ourselves what is victory in Christ? having a life in victory means having peace and joy in the work we do for the Lord. It is a daily construction of well-being for oneself and towards others. Sins, even so-called “little sins” like bad mood, backbiting, irritability, whispering, lack of love, envy, jealousy, hurtful words, bad thoughts, worry, anxiety.

Who can have this kind of life? All believers!
The victorious life is not just for a few privileged Christians. It is presented in the New Testament as the normal Christian life. God made it so that every Christian could live this kind of life. Let’s see what the Bible says about it.

Scriptures on Agape Love

Victory in Christ is a gift

The first thing we see about victory in Christ is that it is a gift. Just as eternal life is a gift, victorious life is also a gift.
It cannot be deserved, it is a gift of God. The Bible says:

Victory is bestowed by the grace of God

Also,  what we need to know about victory in Christ is that it is bestowed by the grace of God.

What is grace? Grace is something that God does for us. Grace has often been defined as  ” undeserved kindness from God,   but grace is much more than that. Grace is the almighty force of God working on our behalf, doing things for us that we could never do on our own. From start to finish, our salvation is an effect of God’s grace.

But don’t we have a role to play in our salvation? Yes. What is our role? Our role is to receive what God’s grace has prepared for us. Let us now consider our salvation and see the role that God’s grace plays in it.

Let’s think, first, of when God saved us. Each of us can remember when we were separated from God and died for our transgressions and sins. But God loved us and saved us by his grace. The Bible says:

  • “You were dead for your crimes and for your sins. “( Ephesians 2.1 )

When we were dead because of our transgressions and sins, could we live spiritually? No, we couldn’t. It is the power of God working in us that has brought us to spiritual life. Everything was accomplished by the grace of God. The Bible says:

  • “For by grace are you saved, through faith. And it does not come from you, it is the gift of God. “( Ephesians 2.8 )

The Future of Victory in Christ

Now, let’s think about the future. We know that one day the Lord Jesus will return to seek the believers. All believers, those who are dead and those who will be alive at the time of their return, will be caught up in the air to meet their Lord. Our bodies will instantly change and we will be made like him. The Bible says:

  • “For the Lord, Himself, at a given sign… will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who will remain, will be caught up with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air […] ”( 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17 ).

Will we be caught up to meet the Lord in our own strength? No not at all! It will be by the omnipotence of God. It will be by his grace.

And now? Do we have to fight in our own strength, trying our best, but failing miserably? No, God has given us the opportunity to be victorious right now.

What is God offering us right now?

He offers us his grace, his almighty force that works in us. Whatever our situation, God tells us:  ” My grace is sufficient for you

God’s grace for us right now is simply Christ living in us. When God says:

  • “My grace is sufficient for you” is actually saying,  “My Christ is sufficient for you. Trust him. He can give you victory in any circumstance. “

What are we going to do?
We must trust Christ and believe that he will keep us and give us victory. This is receiving God’s grace. When we do this, we  ” reign “  in life. The Bible says:

  • “Those who receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness will reign in life only through Jesus Christ. “(Romans 5:17)

Victory in Christ Jesus

Many Christians seek victory through teaching or unusual experiences, but victory is not in teaching or experience. The victory is in the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says:

  • “But thank God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” ( 1 Corinthians 15:57 )

Christ makes two offers

Jesus Christ makes two offers to everyone. It offers them eternal life and offers them victory over sin. He makes these two offers on exactly the same basis: we have to let him do everything.

Just as there is a right way and a wrong way to seek salvation, there is a right way and a wrong way to seek victory. The wrong way is to try to do it on your own. The right way is to let the Lord work for you. The Lord Jesus said:

  • “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” ( Matthew 11:28 )

If you were doing a job and the Lord Jesus came to you and said,  ” I will give you rest,  ” what would you expect from him? I would expect him to take your place and do his job while he rests. That is exactly what it wants to do for you.

You may have tried to live a victorious life, but you failed. The Lord Jesus says to you:  “ Let me take your place. I will live the victorious life in and through you

How do we enter victory in Christ?

There are only two conditions  to enter victorious life:

  • Trust in Christ.
  • Take Christ as your victory.

Let’s look at these two conditions.

First,  you must trust yourself and everything you have in the Lord Jesus. If you are in control of your life, then you are responsible for maintaining yourself. If you entrust yourself to the Lord Jesus, then that becomes your responsibility. He is the one who will keep you. The apostle Paul said:

  • “I know in whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he has the power to keep my deposit […]” ( 2 Timothy 1:12 )

The Lord Jesus was able to retain Paul and give him the victory, but the apostle Paul did something for the Lord to do. What was it? Paul completely trusted the Lord Jesus. If you want the Lord to keep you and give you victory, you must trust him.

Is there something in your life that you have not yet entrusted to the Lord? If so, let him know now. Give him all your past, with your sins and faults. Trust him with your future and all his dreams.

Trust him to your loved ones, to that young man or girl you love. Tell God that if they are not included in His plan for you, you are willing to leave them out of your life.

Tell him right now that you are giving him everything he is and everything you have for eternity. When you have done this, you will have taken the first step towards victory. Do you want to do it immediately?

  • So you have to take Christ as your Victory. Taking Christ as your victory is a lot like taking Christ as your Savior.

What did you do when you took Christ as your Savior? You came to him as a poor sinner and trusted him to save you.

What do you do when you take Christ as your victory?

You come to him as a poor failed Christian, and you trust that he will give you victory. Will you take it as your victory right now? Simply say,  “Lord Jesus, I have tried to live the Christian life, but I have failed. From now on, I take you as my Victory. I trust you will give me victory. “

Take God at His Word

When you took Christ as your Savior, how did you know that God had saved you? By his Word! You took God at His Word and thanked Him for saving you.

When you take Victory in Christ, how do you know that God has given you victory? By his Word! What is God saying? He said: “My grace (my Christ) is sufficient for you.”

Do you want to take God at his word and thank him based on his word that his grace is sufficient for you? Thank that Christ is in your heart and that He meets all your needs at this time.

When you surrender to Christ and take Him as your Victory, you enter the victorious life. You can say, “I know that the Lord Jesus is meeting all my needs right now because His grace is sufficient for me.” ”

Spiritual Meaning of Prayer

How to persevere victory in Christ

You enter victory by submitting to Christ and trusting that He will give you victory. You persevere in victory by continuing to submit to him and trusting that he will give you victory.

Victory is not something you have once and for all. You have to take Christ as your Victory day by day. You have to depend on him day after day.

Remember that victory is granted to you by the grace of God. It is not clenching your teeth and making desperate efforts to support yourself. It is a miracle of God’s grace. It’s not about trying, but about being confident. To try is to make an effort; Trust is letting the Lord act for us.

Will you continue to have failures?

Yes, there will be failures as long as you learn to walk in victory. As we said before, the victorious life is not a sinless life.

What will happen when you fail? Will you be discouraged by saying: This is not working. I cannot be a victorious Christian. It is good for others but not for me? That is exactly what the devil wants you to say. Do not do it

Have you ever seen a baby learn to walk? What’s going on? Take a few steps and then fall. Does he stay on the floor and say: It’s no use. I don’t know how to walk. Will I never learn to walk? No. What are you doing? He cries a lot. Then he gets up and starts over. You fall further but continue until you can walk.

It is so in the Christian life. As you learn to walk in victory, you have several falls. What should you do when you fall? Get up! Confess your sin to the Lord. Tell him that’s not what you want. Tell him you want to live a victorious life. Then start over. Walk once more trusting in Christ as your Victory. As you go, you will notice that the falls are not that numerous.

Don’t accept defeat

When you fail, you must never remain defeated. You can be replaced immediately in victory. How? ‘Or what? Confessing your sin to God and once again claiming Christ as your Victory. Remember that Christ never failed. He is still the winner and lives in you.

You can have victory in Christ

Don’t read this lesson just once to complete the quiz and believe you know the truth. Study this lesson several times until these truths become reality in your life.

Everything that Jesus did for one of his disciples, he will also do for you!

You can be a Christian with the victory of Christ! You cannot say that this life is for others and not for you. God wants you to live victoriously. You must believe that the victorious life is also for you, from now on, regardless of the circumstances.

Choose the life of victory. The life of a defeated Christian is painful. The only happy life, the only life that honors the Lord Jesus, is the victorious life. Take the first steps. Trust in Christ. Take it as your victory.

Trust him day after day. In every situation, lean on him. Say, “I know that the Lord Jesus now meets all my needs because his grace is sufficient for me.”
